I have invested 60 knowledge points into Mining Fundamentals. I am still unable to mine while mounted. I get no error message; I’m simply dismounted when mining any node.
On very rare occasions I will not be dismounted when mining, but it’s maybe once or twice a day of pretty extensive mining.
I have the same issue on all of my toons that mine.
With herbalism for druid or on a non druid using the talent - when you aren’t on the ground and you are flying - you get a message that says “You are flying”, you can then land and when you begin gathering and you stay in your flight form or on your mount.
But with mining, if you are hovering at all and you are in range to begin mining the node it will drop you out of flight form or off your mount and then continue mining. If you are fully landed on the ground it works fine as expected and you dont dismount. It’s really annoying. Mining needs to be adjusted to funciton the same way as herbalism does and not shift you out of the mount or form. It should just inform you that your flying.
For both professions - I would also highly suggest a modification so that when you are in range to gather a node and if your on a mount flying but can harvest while on a mount, then it should automatically cause us to fall the short distance and “land” and begin gathering. Rather than have us play this minigame of how to get on ground to gather.
I am bumping this post because this is still happening. In steady flight - when herbing if you are not on the ground you get “You are flying” but when mining it will dismount you dropping you to the ground. This should be fixed so that it doesn’t auto dismount you.
