PROBLEM:
Plugged in and reconnected after being away from the computer for one week. PC installed OS updates. Logged into WOW, which also installed updates. Launched Play and waited for connection. Soon got error “World of Warcraft Not Responding” - screen froze up and would not close even when doing End task from Task Manager. I restarted the computer and ended up with the same result after waiting for ½ hour after attempting launch.

I’ve deleted the folder Addons (CurseForge) within WOW folder.
I have gone into the Options (gear) to rename Cache, Interface and WTF files – same result.
I have uninstalled all CurseForge files from my HD – same result
I have run “Scan and Repair” from the WOW options menu – same result.
Finally, I uninstalled WOW and reinstalled WOW from the Options menu and get the ‘Not Responding’ result over the opening screen warning of epileptic consequences.

I had a similar issue with an RX 6600 XT.
Before you launch the game, from the launcher, select the options cog (next to the “play” button), in there select game settings, from there check the “additional command line arguments” box, and in the field below add this -d3d11

This will force the game to start / revert to Direct X 11, and solved my issue.
