i’m having some troubles.
i can install battlenet fine on my mac, but when i go to install the wow client, the file downloads for a couple seconds, then stops saying theres no connection to the servers.
but i know my internet is fine, because in browsing the internet while it happens. streaming music or video isn’t affected, websites are fine… just battlenet.
if i copy the wow client over from another machine running windows, the game does a little update giving me the mac launcher, then stops with 1.72mb left to download and errors again. error given is this:
worst for me is if i then just go directly launch the wow client from /applications/world of warcraft/retail IT WORKS FINE. battlenet just doesn’t want to complete… something.
i’ve run the file checker, same issue, after checking the files, it cant download anything to fix anything, if something is the matter. it doesn’t tell me.
lastly, the other thing i’ve heard people say is “make sure filevault is off” and it is…

Hey, ive dealt with 6 different GMs and Tech and I still cant get it working properly either… hoping they can fix it at some point. Tried so many different things…
Let me know when it works for you! Thanks!
Howdy!
This error is related to the Blizzard app itself, not World of Warcraft, it isn’t able to properly download or write data. Something is blocking the Blizzard application either at permission, third-party conflict or connection level from doing it’s intended task.
I would recommend the following steps:
-
Uninstall the Blizzard app fully following all the steps Here.
-
Make sure the Blizzard app is allowed through your OS Firewall Here.
Retest. If the issue continues try creating a new administrator account and testing the Blizzard app on that account to troubleshoot permission.
If the issue continues we need to check the stability of the connection. If you have access to another network at a friend’s house or a VPN you could try these workarounds to help rule out the connection. You may also run a new pathping and post the results into your reply. Make sure to highlight the text and select the code block icon.
Thank you.
I’m having the same issue this morning.
Trying to install WoW on my Mac for the free weekend and it downloads about 1GB (of 58ish) and then freezes, saying it can’t download the data. I’ve wiped all Blizzard games and apps (including Battle Net) and re-installed Battle Net and it still won’t work.
It will install Diablo 3 and Hearthstone just fine, but WoW just won’t budge.
