You can still make a group, you just cannot make a customized group, at least not without adding SMS. You not wanting to is on you since it is required to make customized groups. This was implemented so as to help block spam selling messages on the group finder, and it is working to some extent…though not optimally.

Those are the rules Blizzard has chosen to enforce. They apply to you no matter what you think of them.

I keep stating that MY ACCOUNT… ALREADY HAS AN AUTHENTICATOR on it… and you two keep replying and interjecting absolutely nothing except to be annoying.

I’m sorry that you posted in a public forum where anyone with an account in good standing is able to post as long as it isn’t false information about the topic.
But you also state that you refused to add SMS to your account, which is a requirement for making a custom group in the group finder.
No. I am only stating the facts that you cannot seem to understand. Your issue is not a bug, and you would not be grandfathered in to not needing SMS to make a custom group. NOBODY was grandfathered in so as to stop those selling runs on stolen accounts from being able to do so easily.

I had an authenticator fob attached to my account but the battery was dying so I had to remove it. And now I can’t list my group other than naming it the basic “+n”.

The author is Jeremals and the description they wrote for the addon is:
Sometimes when listing keys without an Authenticator attached to your account the title box will be empty and disabled; you won’t be able to list your key because there is no title -even though you cannot edit it-
This is caused by UI taint from Addons/Scripts that modify the LFG list.
This aura makes that text box always editable so you are able to list your key
