So i am a returning player and i started brand new to get a feel for the game again for expac. I made a mage and selected tailoring and enchanting for my professions. I went to dragonflight for my leveling experience and am now lvl 23 i paid for dragonflight enchanting and tailoring but i have run into an issue. I cannot disenchant ANYTHING that drops in dragonflight areas. everything has the message “Cannot be disenchanted” on it when i try. even dungeon drop gear. is this a bug or am i missing something? i even thought it was the enchanting tool i had so i bought a serevite rod from the AH and made the enchanting tool and still cannot disenchant anything. please help.

Did you train Dragonflight Enchanting? Each expansion has it’s own crafting and craft leveling. Visit the Enchanting trainer in Valdrakken.
Yes i have Dragonflight enchanting it is currently at 2 since i made the rod itself buying ingredients from the AH
What was the name of the rod you crafted? I don’t remember having to make any type of rod for Dragonflight. The whole crafting system changed in DF and you don’t need tools that you carry in your bags anymore.
I wish i could post a screenshot here it is just the Serevite rod which is the first thing you can craft in enchanting. It is just called Runed Serevite Rod and adds +2 to dragon isles enchanting and +31 to resourcefulness
Have you done a full UI reset? Id try that if not. Addons or a corrupt UI can certainly cause this.
If that doesn’t help it sounds more like a bug than anything else. You could make a new thread or move this one over there.
Edit: how to do a reset. Note it is reversible, just rename/put files back after if it didn’t help.
i have done all that and still not able. the only thing i can think is the reason is like i said i am leveling here and none of the gear dropping is 60. i made an item with dragon isle tailoring and it was 61 and i was able to disenchant. so i think because the items are being scaled down to my level it is preventing me from disenchanting things. which is kind of stupid Blizzard should look into that.
DF was designed for 61-70. We’ll 60 is in there to, however by the time you get to valdraken your at least 61 anyways.

Which is why it will need to be adjusted since you are sent there automatically now at much lower levels. My new level 10 alt just received the starting quest for the Dragon Isles.
yeah there is nothing in the profession text or window saying that the items need to be a certain level to disenchant. they need to fix that
Oh I forgot that DF is chromie times now. Yes that needs to be addressed.

I didn’t even have to activate Chromie Time. The quest appeared soon as that alt spawned in to the game for the first time.

yeah, it seems to be locked to old DF levels, so save them and d/e at 60 I guess.
