Unable to connect to OCE servers from US (Transfer aborted instance not found)

Anytime an OCE player hosts or ‘owns’ an instance, I’m unable to join it. The error I receive is transfer aborted instance not found.

To test this further, I tried creating a character on an oceanic server and I can’t even connect to do that. I ran a trace route to 103.4.115.248 (I found this IP address on an old post from 2021 where someone had similar issues).

From the trace route, it looks like I’m routing all the way to Korea before the connection times out (I can’t ping this address either… request times out).

This has been going on for over a year, and blizz support asked me to post here.

Any ideas?

Where are you connecting from, and have you reached out to your ISP?

Blizzard does not publicly post IP addresses, so the trace might outdated.

I know earlier there were cable routing issues from Australia to the US servers, not sure about the other way.

I haven’t yet, although I don’t know what I would ask them at this point. If the IP address I had found previously published isn’t current, I don’t know where they’d start. I should mention I’ve had zero problems with my ISP for the last 16 years, it’s only WoW OCE servers for some reason lol.

I’m in the Midwest of the USA, others I know in my area don’t have this problem though.
