Just started this on my DK a few minutes ago. Was able to destroy 3/5 soulforged cores but I am unable to destroy anymore. I click to toss it in the soulsteel forge and it just tells me “requires soulsteel forge” even though I am right there.
Tried disabling all addons, logging and relogging, exiting the game completely several times, nothing.
Same issue here, also a DK
Was able to complete the last two by running to different soul forges. Some didn’t work but some did and was eventually able to complete.
Garbage quest is bugged. Same happened to me.
Also have the same issue. Tried to do it yesterday and got 3/5 with same error. Abandoned quest. Picked it up again today to try again and same problem. I can only find 3 of the forges and don’t see any others, and it acts like it’s a one time use thing.
Also experienced this, after reading comments, I searched for more forges and was able to find more up in another area. It is definitely 1 soul per forge.
Same issue on my Druid..

Ran to all the different forges and as someone pointed out, it is one per forge -though the quest text could do with tweaking to explain this.
Same here same happened to me just now. Been experiencing a lot of achievement and quest bugs today
yep, so done with these stupid bugged quests
and let me just add that this ‘maw’ is the most ridiculous ‘zone’ or whatever it is i have ever seen… the mechanics are so messed up… you can’t even complete your dailies without the ‘eye of the jailer’ being maxed out… it goes up way to freaking fast and than everything you do there is just a stupid pain in the ‘rear’ (because blizz even things the other word is bad LOL) , even your torgahst runs

Same issue. The Maw as a whole is a trainwreck. Worst zone Blizzard has made in the 14 years I’ve been playing.
Started quest on my DK as well. Similar issue got to 3/5 and ran into an issue. I saw that I could only do 1 orb at a time on 1 furnace, but when I tossed in the fourth one it went in the furnace but nothing registered. Didn’t think much at first so went to get another orb but nothing was dropping. Kept killing same types of mobs but nothing, 2 hours later still nothing. Dropped quest and picked it back up starting from 0 now and back to killing mobs. 3 hours later still no orbs. There is something really buggy about this quest so I’m leaving it alone until it gets looked at.
Stillhaving this problem today as a hunter. Got to 3/5 and bugged, wont let me do any more.
It is one soul per forge! Just keep killing between forges and the souls should drop. was also running around like an idiot thinking the game was bugged.
As far as I’m concerned it is a bug. Blizzard just can’t learn that making stupid tasks that require you to run all over the place for something simple and pointless is how you ruin players experience. Why does it matter if you throw it in a different one on each orb? Also why make it so you have to stand around and wait for spawns on mobs because there’s so many people trying to do it and you can only loot one at a time? Blizzard just can’t get over that fact that they like to waste players time.
i have 4/5 and have gone to every Soulforge to destroy the core. You get to the soulforge its highlighted go to click the core to throw in an you get the error you need a soulforge. went to everyone in the area, logged out and came back in and still no way to destroy the core.
Still an issue 4/5… it’s March in a week
