Unable to complete Cosmic Gladiator's Dreadplate Armor set?

I am working towards completing the 9.2 death knight PVP set “Cosmic Gladiator’s Dreadplate Armor” but noticed that some of the pieces (chest, shoulders, and feet) are not purchasable at Zo’Sorg as the rest of the set is. What you can purchase for conquest appears to be the paladin or warrior plate shoulders/chest/feet pieces. The appearances tab lists these 3 slots of the set as Shoulderplates, Carapace, and Greaves of the First Eidolon respectively, which to my knowledge and search only appears to be the 4 tints you can acquire from the 4 raid difficulties. I can’t seem to find any source in-game for this particular tint that matches the listed set for DK’s. I don’t have this same issue on my hunter, who can purchase all of the pieces needed for the set from Zo’Sorg.

When it comes to Cosmic Gladiator’s Transmog, not all pieces can be purchased from the Vendor.

However, there are 3 work arounds for completing the whole set.

  1. Increasing Rating in Rated PvP will instantly unlock the Cosmic Gladiator Transmog, and the Elite Cosmic Gladiator’s Transmog simultaneously.

    • Combatant I (1000): Cloak
    • Combatant II (1200: Legs, Bracers
    • Challenger I (1400): Gloves, Boots
    • Challenger II (1600): Chest, Belt
    • Rival I (1800): Head, Shoulder

  1. Using the Creation Catalyst to convert PvP items into your Tier, including off pieces.

    • After purchasing an item from the PvP Vendor, you can take that item to the Creation Catalyst once a week, and change it into your PvE Tier. This includes Boots, Bracers, and Belts.
    • This set will have the same cosmetic appearance as your baseline Cosmic Transmog

  1. The release of the next Expansion will add all Shadowlands PvP Tiers to a vendor, allowing players to purchase their PvP Transmog sets for Marks of Honor.

    • This does not include Elite PvP Sets as they will no longer be available.

Aren’t the Elite PvP mogs available but ONLY to players who got the appropriate rank in the appropriate season? Its that way for the Legion PvP mog sets.

Yes, but they system is a bit tricky.

Legion

In Legion, Elite PvP sets were unlocked once a player reached 2k in any rated bracket.

  • Due to player feedback, these Elite Sets were put on a vendor in Legion Dalaran, so anyone with the Legion Achievements could go back and purchase them.

Horde Vendor:

BfA

In BfA, the Elite PvP sets were unlocked via staggered rating, but this only unlocked the Transmog for the set. The actual items of the individual sets were removed and Blizzard just went to a pure xmog/cosmetic feature.

  • There are no NPC Vendors in BfA who sell the Elite sets, either you unlocked the mog as your gained rating, or didn’t.

Shadowlands

Shadowlands doubles down on the trickyness.

A player can earn their Class Elite PvP set through staggered rating, unlocking the Boots and Bracers, followed by the Pants, Belt, etc…

However, players can also purchase “off class set” pieces from the Vendor.

For example, as a Paladin players can purchase a crit/versa helm with the DK appearance

If you purchase this helm from the PvP Vendor, it will have the brown and blue coloring.

If you want this helm in the “Elite version” of this DK helm, the purple and white coloring, you can, but you must upgrade it to 8/9 Duelist ranking.

This paladin, for example.

  • They purchased the DK helm look-a-like from the Vendor, and before converting it to their tier, upgraded it to 8/9 duelist ranking.

If you convert any item to your tier using the Creation Catalyst, it will take on the appearance of your tier.

In the case of Paladins, plate wearers, you can unlock the DK helm and Belt, warrior Pants and Shoulders.

Dear God in heaven that is farcical. Legion did it right. If you got the rank when it was current, you can buy the appropriate season cosmetically. Boom and done. This BFA and Shadowlands bit is a nonsense.

Warlocks are also having problems. The Helm and Belt for Cosmic Gladiator’s Felweave Armor are not sold. Sucks because I have everything else. The whole work around for getting the set by improving your ranking is BS. I’m sorry but that’s what the Elite set is for, not the base set.

No, I won’t use creation catalyst b/c that’s the tier appearance, which I DON’T want.

No it won’t be the raid tier coloring if you use a pvp piece in the creation catalyst. It will be the pvp coloring.

I’m curious if this is still the requirement having the 2100 rating to get the “Elite” transmog look from another class. I’m a Warrior trying to get the DK elite look. I saw that the elite looks are unlocked at 1800.
