friend of mine ran into a bug where all his gold was in his warbank and he had run out of gametime and was unable to buy a wow token with the gold. seems like a huge oversight.
This is not a bug. Players that bought game time with only gold are now required to purchase 30 days of game time once a year with real money. Has something to do with gold sellers and what not.
With massive amounts of players missing hundreds of items from guild banks, and some claiming issues with the Warband bank, I recommend not putting anything important in either warband bank or guild banks till these bugs are figured out. Also, you can avoid the “now required to purchase 30 days of game time once a year with real money,” if you just keep adding game time from tokens. Did you use your free 1 day? If not could use that to activate the account, and buy the token then. Final idea, have a trusted friend gift you 60 days with gold/bnet balance, then pay them back for 60 days game time with the equivalent in gold. Otherwise might be stuck with paying by credit card.
There isn’t anything in the OP that suggests their friend is even tripping over the “purchase game time once a year to keep playing with gold” issue. Even if you’ve bought every other month this year with cold hard cash, you cannot reactivate with gold from the character select screen if it is all in your warbank. Not sure if it’s a bug so much as oversight, but that’s up to Blizz to decide.
Source for this?
Yeah that’s not true at all.
Go to your account and Blizz has info on it. I read it myself.
