ok so a few days ago i was in a dungeon group for timewalking, the tank (warrior) was claiming he couldnt use any of his attacks… i noticed it because all he could do was auto attack…then realize…he has charge…wth…so 5 minutes of being frustrated and being useless to the group…he left…fast forward to about 10 mins ago…was on my balance druid and loaded up for ahune… now ill be one to charge in head first and cast a quick spell…but even i couldnt use a single spell… so out of respect for the group i went… wth i cant use a spell to let them know what going on…and instead of standing around i apologized and left quietly… but being unable to attack anything is a bug…so please…fix it
Was there an error message accompanying the inability to use spells? Something along the lines of “invalid target.”
I haven’t seen the issue in a long time (but I also play a lot less, so shrug), but the usual solution before was to tap your self-cast key (Alt, by default) a few times. The game sees it as pressed, so every offensive ability is trying to be cast on yourself and you are not a valid target for those spells. Tapping the key gets the game to recognize it in its proper state and allows you to resume attacking as normal.

There was a common issue a couple of months ago with druids where you would be stuck in a shapeshift toolbar different from the shapeshift you were in, and unable to use any spells or even shapeshift out. I saw this once again last week.
The only fix for it I ever found was to log off for several minutes.
