Was super bored and running older content usually scratches my itch and I decided to run Tomb of Sargeras because there’s a set I want on Mythic and the first boss proved to be quite a challenge. Suffice it to say I got discouraged from doing the rest of the place and left.
I’m a hybrid spec so I was able to heal through the damage but what about pure dps classes, what are they suppose to do. ToS was during Legion which was 2 expansions ago, TWO EXPANSIONS AGO…Not only are we suppose to out level it but out gear it as well.
I remember doing ToS during BFA and absolutely demolishing it. We were stronger during BFA but we were also 120 which means the scaling just screwed everything up and it’s not right. Some of us enjoy old content for mogs/mounts/achievements/pets etc…
This is ridiculous I can’t even enjoy the part of the game that keeps me playing anymore
BM (kyrian) I can only clear to mythic Elisande. Gul’dan eludes me. Never tried higher after that.
DH (venthry) I had get up to see the astro mancer then he hit some invul mechanic. BM almost sees this. He drops right before it with BM. DH did sword lady and the demon okay. The star dude had me seeing stars lol.
Frost DK met and failed at EN boss 1. Whatever stuff she builds up she pops and 1 dead DK, well true dead. That green hand of maldraxxus doesn’t seem to smack her down too well.
You can down most of the Tomb bosses solo with good gear, it really is a DPS race though. Some do have mechanics you have to mind - also pretty sure groups are common for running legacy raids, so check out LFG.
I upgraded a leveling chars WOD garrison to level 3 to get level 3 barn to get some blood.
And then found out oh those appearances do not exist anymore. Gear squish with that relic system no one uses really killed off the options here.
Should have checked wowhead first. Love this game. I have this cool idea. Lets do it. After…I check wowhead. The times I don’t check wowhead…are the times I get burned. One day I will learn and always check another site first.
They stopped using the buff since wod. Now they completely rely on ilvl scale. The problem is that they forgot to account for borrowed power. A fresh 60 is objectively weaker than a level 50 with full bfa borrowed power. It’s the same reason why my level 50 bfa tanks do 2-3 times the damage of any SL player in TW dungeons. The TW strips away the majority of the power gained from the higher ilvl gear the SL player has, leaving them half baked non-expansion end borrowed power which is no where near as powerful as my bfa character. E.g. my prot pally is basically carrying the entirety of the TW dungeon due to near 100% uptime on wings. If I still had access to corruption gear, the disparity would be even greater.
In a nutshell, you are your most powerful at level 1 relative to your equivalent content. As you level up, you get progressively weaker with you being weakest at level 60. Only once you jump on the ilvl and borrowed power treadmill do you actually start leveling up. This is a symptom of blizz basically deleting the leveling process and moving it into end game gearing systems.
One of the reasons I didn’t buy Shadowlands is because if this horrible scaling tech and level squish. They’ve thoroughly botched something I used to enjoy doing. Yet according to Ion: ‘working as intended.’
Blizzard never admits to mistakes, at least as long as I’ve been playing. It’s always “intended” or “it didn’t play out as planned but we’re happy with it.”
I was spaming Argus hard 2-3 weeks into BFA to unlock void elves. Argue open world ran smooth really. with not great WQ only gear.
SL to BFA…I have gone back and left shortly after to get naz and mecha rep. Its a gear check I don’t do well on. Something went awry here.
Which is odd…gold nerf is in play. Has been. I didn’t mind the argu spam since initially no gold nerf. I made some nice pocket gold on the way to VE unlock.
Gold nerf in play. Open world old mob raw gold farming is a former shadow of itself really.
