I wouldnt say creative freedom is lazy when the story with Earthern really slaps.
I would rather a well written story than inserting a race just for the heck of it.

On topic with the question no idea i love dwarfs as much as the next person but absolutely hate these new things and their lame lore. Ive wanted naga since vanilla since we could use the in WC3 i figured they’d be playable eventually. And the Etherals are always a welcome choice
Only problem i have with any new races is there isnt enough classes I already have multiple of everything and dont want to make more lol

What? They made the race so they made the storyline to fit. If they had nagas you were going to flip out that nagas were deep underground? They literally added space goats and spaceships.
Do you want an actual answer? It’s quite simple, that’s what they decided to do.
There are plenty of races that the player base want, but we’re also not making the game and can’t force them to make anything playable. I’d like Saberon or Ogres, but I’ll take a Earthen since they are unique enough for a dwarf reskin and can be made on either faction.

some alliance allied races are another human, another gnome, another draenei, another dwarf…
some horde are another orc, another tauren, another troll…
i feel like these could have all been just added as customisation for their “base” race. allied races in general have been uninspiring.

Yah guessed wrong, if we wanted the choco hype music we would all log back into our Thats not an answer at all. If ‘there are lots of races players want’ and they picked one of them but not another fine. Who wanted a third dwarven race? No one.

Just give them some targets and they are happy. Working both sides. Blood or night elf dh, same reliable problem solvers lol .

I was unimpressed initially with the concept of the Earthen, but TWW has really sold me on them so far.
Korgran’s questline was hands down one of the best questlines I’ve ever done in WoW.

Earthen got more lore and world-building in Isle of Dorn than Dracthyr got in their entier expansion.
It’s a reskin race, but at least Blizz put in the work this time. If you didn’t do the dracthyr starting zone, these goobers just show up one day. Terrible world building. Bottom of the barrel.

Lore is great and all, but Gameplay trumps lore where mechanics are concerned. We all know the real reason they didn’t want to spend the time and money. They save a lot of money by reusing base model animations and just reskining, and try to make up for it with lore to sugarcoat it.
Are we going to call a races appearance gameplay, now? It’s entierly superficial to gameplay. The player avatar could be totally untextured and game play would remain the same.
Cause people are fed up with people still asking for High Elves when both factions already have it essentially.
