So i’m debating on pulling the trigger and ordering the 34" LG 34GP83A-B ultrawide monitor. Anyone use an UW monitor for WoW? Currently running a 27" Dell gaming IPS 1440p monitor with my RTX 3070. Curious if it makes it a better gaming experience or hold off spending the cash.
Yes an ultrawide monitor is one of the best upgrades you can get for WoW. A 34 monitor is essentially the same height as a 27 just wider. It’ll allow you to see more of the game at all times as well as move parts of your UI to the side. I love mine and won’t go back to 16:9.
I don’t know if that’s enough justification for you as a good 27in isn’t a bad experience by any stretch.

Went from a Dell 27” 1440p 144hz Gsync panel to an Alienware 34” 3440x1440 120hz Gsync panel and it was well worth it. Paired originally with a 1080ti and now I have a 3080ti

So i received it today and set it up. Im mixed about it. Its freaking AWESOME but to get the full effect of it i have to sit a bit further back. The base is much bigger than the Dell gaming 27" so i cant push it as far back or itll go over the edge of the desk.
Zero dead pixels, no light bleeding through. Calibrated it quickly and im very impressed. My 3070 runs it like a champ in wow and i see so much more game since the sides arent as cluttered with the game information.

I bought a SAMSUNG 49-inch Odyssey G9 Gaming Monitor and I like it. It’s much higher quality than my previous monitors. I don’t play my games full monitor full screen though.
I would hope there’s zero dead pixels, but tapping the screen usually fixes it.
I love playing on the UW, I also got a nice reg 27" before it but I had to get the UW.
Both sit on my desk but the UW is on a gas spring monitor stand and that frees up space under it for junk and my computer speakers since they are slim.
Does playing on an ultra wide actually allow you to see a wider field of view or is just stretching a standard resolution screen to fit over a wider area? I had heard somewhere that Blizzard didnt allow you to see a wider field of view because that would be an unfair advantage that ultra wide monitor players would have.

Yes it does give you wider view.
Some of blizz’s game do not support Ultrawide such as SC2.
I wish I could get a new monitor to go with my new computer that is being delivered today. I have a Samsung 24" curved monitor but my desk I currently have doesn’t have an opening on it big enough for anything larger. I may get a new desk next year but I haven’t decided yet.
