Why are the ultimate Gnomish army knives bind on pick up now? I used to be able to make them and send to alts. Now I can’t. What’s the deal? Is a new version coming with DF?

With work orders (once DF is live) it won’t matter if items are BoP.
I know this doesn’t help situations out right now.
I’m almost positive the one in my bag is nothing. I purchased one off the AH about a week ago.

If I remember correctly, the Ultimate version of the knife is for engineering only, and has the ability to attempt a Rez.
The lesser knife everyone can use and it gives a +10 to the gathering skills as well as most tools needed, but no attempt at Rez.

Once you make one Ultimate Gnomish Army Knife and had it in your possession, then any subsequent ones you made are BoE and won’t have the ability to res. Even says so in the crafting screen.

Kind of what mystraele said, make 1, and you can make the non bop version, the crafting description says.
“Once you have an ultimate gnomish army knife in your possession, this recipe will create a version without jumper cables that you can sell to pathetic non-engineers”
FYI - I know it says it ‘attempts’ to rez, but I’ve been unsuccessful with every single attempt the last few months. I don’t remember if I tried earlier in DF and if this is just completely not working, but seems my luck is pretty low if it doesn’t. I know I’ve tried at least 10 times recently.
