The maiden of vitality in BFA told us there were containment breaches in multiple Titan facilities, Uldorus being one of those mentioned.
In Dragonflight, we just happen to be doing things at Uldorus, the rather horrible laid out place known as Tyrhold. Yet in game, we see literally nothing to indicated anything was ever contained there. So what do you believe has happened here? Even the modern writers forgetting or disregarding their own lore? Or something we haven’t seen yet?
Personally, could be interesting if something was actually contained there, and it will worm its way into the new Tyr or something as we try to bring him back.
maybe something we’ve yet to see? Like a mysterious sixth flight that unlike the others or the primalists tried to just kill everyone and had to be contained but in turn drove the keepers there crazy. Like they drank too deeply of the imbued waters and think they’re gods and thus had to be locked away as they’re clear evidence that the titan’s messed with the waters that flow through the dragon isles and even to the life pools? Maybe only Tyr can access said wing and thus bringing him back was a needed part of the story?
I don’t know. There’s no evidence or even hint from Koranos or the Aspects that anything was contained there. Nothing really in the dungeon, either, other than a summoned elemental.
Maybe an evil dragonflight infused with the light? Could be interesting, and with the whole light is bad theme that blizzard is going with it would make sense.
The titan keepers keep secrets, even from trusted allies like Koranos and the aspects. If not a flight than maybe…a single dragon with power rivaling the aspects but a blood thirst rivaling the primalists? I mean they experimented on elemental infused proto drakes so…what if they had a special project that had to be locked up and kept quiet… that may be breaking free slowly but surely?
Could simply be about chambers and wings of the immense, mostly underground facility that we know next to nothing of, and whose residents are almost universally hostile towards us and would not ask for our aid. Tyrhold’s guardians do not like us, there’s a reason they’re used as elite WQ fodder.
The titans tell us theyre the good guys and we’re supposed to believe them, but theyve also shown that they’ve crossed us in the past and kept those secrets hidden for their own gains.
I wish i could find the thread. Someone spent some time looking into the titans activities and our interactions with them and it turned out (if it was all to be believed - was displayed well enough to convince me - that theyre not the goody good look out for our best interest type folks)
A more orderly universe is ultimately better for everyone involved in it though.
Sometimes, you have to just accept that some people know better than you. The attempts to make it seem like the Titans are wrong for this just kinda hits like it was written by someone with daddy issues.
Literally every single other power leads to violence, sociopathy, and all-around repulsive behavior when it is the dominant force.
The titan keepers created ghuun by experimenting too hard on old god goop, that certainly wasnt good. I do agree that the titans are a mostly positive force though. Them trying to make the titans seem outright evil would be awful writing to me.
Is the Vault of the Incarnates considered a part of the whole facility? The Titans imprisoned the Incarnates there. Just a thought that it might be broadly a part of the same complex.
To be honest, this has been a little weird to me as well. Since Uldorus is a clear analogue to Antorus, it stands to reason that Uldorus would actually be the main Titan facility housing or protecting Azeroth’s world soul. However, the DF story equating Tyrhold to Uldorus throws this for a loop since it means it’s no longer a facility deep underground like Antorus was.
Recommended expurgation of following facilities:
[Uldaman]. [Uldum]. [Uldorus]. [Ulduar]. [Uldir]. [Uldaz]. Uld… Uld… Uld… Uld…"
Uldaman contained the disks of Norgannon, breached and disks taken. Uldum contained the controls to re-originate the planet, breached in Cata. Ulduar contained Yogg, breached by Yogg himself long ago.
All listed sites contained something and was breached. But there’s nothing at Uldorus to breach, nothing contained.
Thus my point: it doesn’t necessarily mean there was a containment breach. It could just be related in some other way. Keep in mind that it was dormant until the Isles reawakened. Which means it was offline. So it couldn’t be determined what was going on.
She states this as though she is sending out for containment reports and receiving reports back on the status.
The status, at the time of her pinging the locations for reports, was completely contained. The robotic nature of her behavior would have had her listing unresponsive facilities as “null” or something, rather than confirming containment breach.
