Hey all!
Just wanted to report these issues:
- I cannot edit anything in the new UI. If I attempt to save, no profile is create, and clicking “Save” merely resets all changes into the original position.
- My Objectives Tracker is HUGE and all the way to the left. Moreover, clicking it while in edit mode gives no options to edit it.
- Edit mode does not go away. Unless I relog, if I “close” edit more, the blue boxes persist, and I am still able to edit everything.
- If I move the minimap and reset its position, my buff bar stays where the minimap was.
Any help would be much appreciated.
EDIT: This seems to be localized to only ONE of my characters.
I had this problem too. Delete your WTF and Cache folders to hard reset your client-side settings. It seems to particularly be a problem with bad files in the WTF folder, but may as well clear both to be safe.
My party frames don’t show up when I’m in a party. Also Arena frames don’t actually move or scale once you’re in the arena.
This seemed to have done it. Thank you!
I tried this, but it didn’t solve my problem.
It’s been a few days so I don’t know if you found a solution yet, but if this is still a problem for you, make sure that when you delete your WTF & Cache folders, when you log back into the game you /disable all addons before logging onto a character/. This problem seems to stem from some weird addon stuff interacting with the generation of the new UI’s files. Once you’ve logged in with no addons active and confirmed that the new UI is functional, you can go ahead and re-enable your addons.
If that doesn’t work, sorry but I can’t help any further. This method worked for me the first time. The only thing I can really suggest beyond that is trying it again a few times to see if it starts working, as the UI in general seems to be very jank right now.
I had no addons. I deleted my WTF, Cache and Interface. I had to run a scan and repair to fix the silly thing. Thank you!
Interesting. Glad you were able to get it working! Everyone else I’ve run into has said the problem seemed to stem from addon stuff, but if you’re getting it with no addons it might just have to be a weirdness with the installation properly implementing them. Maybe addons merely contribute to the chance of that happening?
Well on the bright side, anyone who sees this who deleting those folders doesn’t fix it, go for the semi-nuclear option and do a full repair.

Exit game.
Find your WOW Retail folder.
Rename interface to interface-old or interface-today’s date
(Example: interface-10282022)
Rename wtf to wtf-old or wtf-today’s date
(Example: wtf-10282022)
Rename Cache to Cache-old or Cache-today’s date
(Example: Cache-10282022)
Restart game.
See if you can make any changes and try to save it.
If it works it means your addons or old config was causing the issue.
If it doesn’t work it might be you are not starting the game as administrator.
In which case make sure you do and try again.
If you have any 3rd party apps like raider.io client or anything like that make sure they are disabled, anything that hooks into your game should be disabled.
PS:
I just helped a guildie with this problem he wanted to move the chat window and couldn’t it would go back to the corner when he moved it.
So we reshaped the window first and logged out then moved it after he logged back in. This allowed the chat window to be repositioned.
It was really odd, because I was abke to use the interface editor just fine for a while. And then as I was messing with talent settings, suddenly it all went to hell in a handbasket.
