I think it would be cool if we could create custom collapsible buttons. It would work similar to the Hunter Call Pet and Pet Utility buttons, Challenge Mode teleports, etc…
“Multiple buttons in one?! OP BAD TAKE
”
- You can’t use it in combat, at least not effectively. Pressing the button would just open the options and not activate them.
“But why would you want this? No point”
- You can use it for things like companion pets, mounts, toys, food/potions, utility and rarely used buttons, transmog sets, RP Dialog options, anything your heart desires. I would specifically use it for companion pets I want to have quick access to and have my coolest/FOTM mounts quickly available.
I’m the kind of person who has folders for their bookmarks on their browser and having that organization makes me happy lol. Just think it would be cool to have baked into the base UI

yeah basically, didnt actually know the addon existed (wasn’t serching ‘flyout button’ and it’s been a while since i checked) so i will be downloading it, in lieu of it not being baked in game. Something more similar to how it functions to Blizzards, instead of having to click the tiny arrow to open the flyout options. Unless I’m using it wrong lol
Blizzard flyouts have gone through a lot of changes over the years (they once used the arrow also). There may be other addons that get closer to what you want, I just remembered seeing that one a while ago.

Another alternative, Select (https://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info11607-Select.html or https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/select) was built with this in mind, actually.
You can create a macro to /select among different items, toys, spells, mounts, etc; and then the macro will use whatever was last selected from the flyout when you right-click it on your bars.
Ill definitely check that out! thank you for the suggestion
Edit
Doesn’t look like it works with companion pets and is reliant on macros? Gonna hold off for rn.
If by pets you mean hunter pets, it does. If you mean companion pets, I’m not sure.
Battle/Companion Pets are unofficially supported. pet:Black Tabby Cat or pet:favorite will add to the flyout and behave as you’d expect (summon/dismiss), except there is no SetMacroPet the way there is SetMacroItem or SetMacroSpell. The end result is you can see the pet’s icon in the flyout but there’s a generic icon when a pet is selected. So it’s not “officially” supported until that becomes a possibility while keeping the addon bar-agnostic.
But it’s definitely macro-centric (kind of a /castsequence variant) so anyone wanting static stuff like Blizzard’s flyouts may prefer other solutions.
