UI removed functionality? Hide quest tracking on tooltip

Hello,

I’d like to bring attention to the fact that it appears as though there is no longer a feature of the UI in Dragonflight, that used to exist at least as recently as 2020ish. I would like to be able to hide the quest tracking on my mouseover tooltip, especially as during raids when 20-30 people in your group are all on the same quest for the raid skip, just mousing over the boss puts a giant text box in the middle of your screen with everyone’s progress.

As far as I can tell, there used to be a cvar that handled this, specifically showQuestTrackingTooltips. This cvar does not exist in the current version of the game, and to my knowledge there is no addon or anything else that can accomplish this specific ask, aside from disabling the tooltip altogether (in combat for example, Elvui can do this).

You need to post something dealing with the UI in the aptly named UI and Macro Forum.

Thank you for the information.

I believe this post still belongs in the Support forum because it relates to a feature that used to exist that currently does not seem to anymore. As such I feel like its arguably a bug report or feature request more so than simply asking how to do something (which I have, and it appears as though the game does not have that feature anymore).

If it makes you feel better I have created an identical thread in the forum you linked.

That’s admirable, but unfortunately Customer Support has absolutely zero purview over how the game operates or is designed.

There is a bug report forum.

As Jetsum mentioned, with how the Blizzard forums are conducted, suggestions and feedback are best left in their appropriate sub-forum (in this case, UI and Macro), with General Discussion being the catch all.

Leaving them here is essentially like tossing it in the wastebin as they won’t be seen by the people you want to see it.

But it was addressed? You were given options on where to post. If it could be seen here by developers, we’d say so. But this is a peer to peer help desk. So we help you by telling you where it will get seen. And here, it will not, because devs don’t come to this forum. We want your information to be seen. We want you to be heard. So we point you in the correct direction.

I gave you the answer as to where to post so that your issue would be seen by those that can assist you with your issue best. This forum is for players to assist players with some moderation by the Support Forum Agents who are not liaison to the people who make game design decisions. The forum I linked for you is where your issue would be seen by those who ARE liaison to the game developers, and they do not come to this forum.
