UI necessities

I really love the new UI! It’s a huge upgrade over the previous default UI and customization options. Thanks for adding this!

Still, it is a bit incomplete. The other thread I saw about this had a laundry list of minor changes. So many that if even half of the features they asked for were added in, the options menu would become a headache to navigate. Many mods are difficult to set up in this way and I’m sure Blizz wants to keep things as simple as possible.

So, in this thread let’s post only the absolute essentials you’d like to see. The things that will force you to download a mod because you feel you cannot rely on the new UI.

For me it’s gotta be…
Scaling the buffs and debuffs in the party/raid frames
They are microscopic! On my monk, pretty much all of my buffs are green and at that size with rotating timer fading them out… :see_no_evil: I will have to rely on Grid until there is a way to modify this besides scaling the entire frame itself to cover half the screen.

The thing that forced me to download a mod (bartender) was the inability to copy a UI template between characters without messing it up.

I do not want to setup or fix my UI on every character when bartender does it perfectly every time.

Was saving your UI not working when you implemented it on alts? Mine loaded up fine when I brought it up for alts

Unless I misunderstand, this should be possible. In the Edit Mode’s main window, you can use the drop down in the top left to save, export, and import UI setups.

Nope. With the exception of 1 character, every time I used my template something was moved or missing. I would have been fine just adjusting the chat box…but having entire bars missing that I needed to set up again was unacceptable.

Yes, that was how I was loading my UI template on different characters. I saved a master template and then loaded it on each character to mixed results as explained above.

Ah, right. I also had bars missing! They were actually in the right spot for me, they just needed to be enabled.
Edit mode>click on any action bar>New popup window ‘Action Bar Settings’> enable the bars that are m.i.a.

My best guess is an addon that was disabled on your main but not in your alts is interfering. At least I had that occur to me on my alts initially

Perhaps. But whatever the cause was Bartender fixed it and gave the UI stability that I needed, not to mention the ability to move the mini-menu and bag buttons as a bonus.

Well whatever works best!

same.
The wife isnt tech savvy at all and she had it figured out in like a minute…four characters set up in half hour.
Very easy to use
Just needs that menu bottom left to be sizeable so vision impaired can see it better.

Yeah… I’m surprised by this, my setup loaded onto 12 characters without a problem.

I had a similar issue, I disabled all my addons and imported setups and seeing if there was anything I liked, but it just didn’t suit me so I re-enabled all my addons and it broke ElvUI, the target from was still using the default UI for just that one frame, I had to delete my WTF folder and bring in an older backup.
