I deleted my cache, interface and WTF folders. I am running no addons. I have performed a battlenet scan and repair.
I created a profile, moved some bars around, resized them etc, and clicked save. When I exit the game and log back in again everything has reverted back to the default setting. What am I missing?
Hold on why is no one even replying it this? Ive done exactly this and I have the same problem. Is no one else experiencing this? Its not even on the known issues list.
Yup, I spent hours tweaking this new UI and saved it every time. And when logging in today, all of those settings are lost. Sigh.
If you cant trust this new Ui, then why even bother paying for game time?! My current time runs out in a few days and I wont be coming back.
On an aside, I wonder if saving your Interface and WTF folders will save your settings if such problems re-emerge.
Edit: I tested to see if saving those folders helps, and it does not. If your saved settings are lost they are lost forever.

Set up the UI, named the new layout and saved.
Only it didnât actually save? I guess since anytime you log out and back in itâs like nothing ever changed.

Turns out you can save your settings by copying them to your clipboard and then saving them to a text file like Windows Notepad.
Whatâs a clipboard? I donât have addons or anythin also im just barely smart enough to get the computer to turn on soâŠ
Go to Edit Mode in game. Click on the drop down menu. At the bottom you will see âShareâ which lets you copy your UI build to your Windows clipboard.
Then open Notepad and click Control-V. Then save it to your desktop or a folder for that kind of thing.

I really donât want to have to copy and paste UI settings. I have downloaded and performed a fresh install (completely removed from Program Files (x86) etc.). I would think this bug would be reported everywhere. Is there a secret fix that everyone else has already done?
This happened to me today as well. I also copied to notepad this time.
Another big issue Iâm having now is that my new character that just went through Exileâs Reach is not able to edit the UI. Relogged, Iâm in Stormwind, Iâm level 12. No idea why.
I went to talk to Chromie to see if a time shift could unlock something. She told me to finish talking to Anduin.
So I had to finish the Stormwind intro, because I didnât choose to skip it. Had to go all the way to Boralus before I could edit my UI.
Still missing my old UI saves, though.
Same issue for me, but adding that my saved preset that I used on all of my characters is gone. This happened sometime overnight because I didnât have the issue yesterday, 11/4.

Same thing happening here. Fresh install, caches wiped, no addons; I canât even SAVE the UI as it is right now.
I fixed it by deleting my Cache and WTF folders. Also export your UI to a text document, then you can easily import it when this happens.
Also having problems. Saved my UI loadout, even exported it for myself. Every time I log in, something is moved or it just resets. I shove in my UI loadout export. Doesnât fix it. Iâm forced to manually adjust it every single time. I have to manually select the loadout per character and per specialization (the latter not making any sense in my mind) which is incredibly tedious.
I donât mind the slick design, I just hate the not-so-slick inner workings that donât do their job half the time.
Are you running your wow as administrator?
Sound like for some reason wow is not writing to the interface or wtf folder.
Check to see if they are both read/ write enable.
I remember smilar issues I had with macros not saving a while ago. Turned out I had to give the folders administrative rights so wow could save to them.
getting this issue suddenly as well. might be a total coincidence but i just server transferred a couple toons and tried to set up the ui and addons via profiles. nothing seems to save. iâm also having trouble even getting past the loading screen?
No Iâm not. Iâve never heard of this before and there has never been an issue. In fact, I semi regularly back up my interface and WTF folders in case I lose my UI and addon settings, so wow is definitely writing to these folders. In the meantime Iâm using Bartender4, Shadowed Unit Frames and Glass.

I had saved my new ui settings the day the patch released. logged out to save the settings. logged back in to load the ui settings on my alts. Like i said, yesterday after the maintenance, my new ui is now missingâŠ
