UI Element Placement Shifts Between Screen Sizes in Edit Mode (Regression from Dragonflight)

Since The War Within pre-patch, UI elements created in Edit Mode no longer maintain consistent positioning between large and small screen sizes. This behavior differs from how UI layouts functioned during Dragonflight, where positions remained stable regardless of screen resolution or window size.

This issue is especially noticeable with action bars and cast bars, which no longer snap cleanly to the grid and visibly shift position when resizing the screen or swapping between monitors of different sizes. This makes it difficult to maintain a consistent UI layout.

Expected Behavior (based on Dragonflight):
UI elements should retain their set position relative to the screen grid, regardless of screen size or resolution, unless manually moved.

Observed Behavior in The War Within:

  • UI elements (especially action bars and cast bars) shift or drift slightly when changing screen sizes.
  • Grid snapping appears inconsistent or ineffective when resizing.
  • Manually re-positioning elements for one screen size results in misalignment on another.

Temporary Workaround:
I’ve created two separate UI profiles — one for small screens and one for large screens — and swap between them manually. This is a tedious workaround and wasn’t required in Dragonflight.

Suggested Fix:
Restore the resolution-independent placement behavior from Dragonflight Edit Mode. UI elements should snap consistently and retain their relative position to the screen grid across screen sizes and resolutions.

Thanks for looking into this — it’s a noticeable regression for players who use multiple monitors or adjust their game window frequently.
