Ui changes

Kinda short but i would kinda like an option to go back to the blizzard ui before dragonflight.

I agree completely. The fact that they’re forcing us to use this new UI without an option to go back to the old one is disrespectful to say the least. They’re acting like they know the game better than the players do.

Amen to that

Isn’t it true that once you overcome the 4-6 hour learning curve, you can make it look just like the old UI?

Seems that way…

I have tryed to make ui look like old but its just not the same its a bit off, its making my ocd bonkers, most players if they wanted a ui like that would just download elvui or bartender.

Key word there: LIKE.

Meaning, it’s SIMILAR to it. Maybe not EXACTLY the same. You could say “it’s a bit off.” Oh wait… you DID say that.

You can put your chr frame back in the upper left.
You can put the enemy frame back next to it.

You can resize the chat window.
You can resize/rearrange the combat bars to be SIMILAR to the old ones.

The bag/utility bar is still in the lower right.
The map is still in the upper right.

It’s BASICALLY the same thing. It’s FUNCTIONALLY the same thing.

Yeah, it’s not EXACTLY the same. But the differences are minor enough to not be worth much fuss. It’s fake outrage.

Now… some of the tools you need to do that are MISSING for some stupid reason. There are still plenty of reasons to be outraged over this UI change. But “I can’t make it look like the old one” isn’t really one of them.

I just go to edit mode and move the health and target bars back where they normally go. You can edit a lot of stuff didn’t take long to do.

No, people like things the way they like them.

Yeah … I know.

Just as I know the default UI was redone once before. And these flipping whiners lived through THAT unbearable travesty, too.

So much so that they came to love the NEW UI so much… that they’re now sweating to make it be a slight change again?

Pitching a fit over MAJOR changes… I get it. Over minor things? … Incredibly superficial things?? I mmmemeeeaaaaannnnnnnn…

No, its untrue. As far as “Seem” yes it could be very easy to think that.

Bartender4 add on from curseforge is all you need it has three classic presets and even the gryphons are old school I have been playing around with it and really like what I see it isn’t perfect but as close as can get until Blizzard gives us the option for old UI.

Whats “worth much fuss” to you is alot different “worth much fuss” to me. Im glad your happy with the changes. You deserve to be happy and get the changes you want/like and asked for. To those like myself that also deserve to get what we want and be happy which would just be a single choice to opt out. Thats prob not going to happen and will take the advise from so many and just “get good BOOMER, accept change or quit and move on”

Some people get used to things, especially if you have vision problems and things like translucent widows and bars really mess with your eyes. It may be small and an insignificant change for you but for me it greatly impacts my gameplay.

They aren’t wrong.

I agree with this 100% and… didn’t say anything contrary to this.

I’m actually trying to be helpful in that since we DON’T have a “use old UI” option, the next best thing is to get 94% of the way there.

I’m be a lot more understanding of these complaints if you couldn’t move the player frame, or the enemy unit frame, or couldn’t resize the chat box, or couldn’t make the action bars look 98% like they just did … but … you CAN.

It’s FRUSTRATING and, again, I agree with that observation. But it CAN be changed.

Again-- there should be an option to “emulate” what the old UI was with the click of a button.

I AGREE WITH THAT.

But most of the complaints in the last 24+ hours have been: it CAN’T be done!

And… that’s just not true. I’m not just gonna sit here while the torches and pitchforks march toward the town center about something that isn’t true.

No, it’s not fake outrage, and it’s quite rude of you to say so.

Plenty of people are not okay with “basically the same thing” or “functionally the same thing.” If you are, I’m happy for you.

For the folks that aren’t okay with “similar,” it’s perfectly okay to want more from Blizzard than this UI that’s been forced on us. It’s perfectly okay to ask for, and search for, solutions to restore the UI we liked and were used to for many years.

If it was 60% “similar”, then maybe.

But when you can make it 98% similar, your argument is losing its veracity.

I’ll end by stating AGAIN: I agree that there should be an option to make the new UI look like the old UI, with just the push of one single button.

But it is fake outrage… when we’ve done this before and everyone SOMEHOW made it through. You know how those BRAVE, truly STOIC people made it through? Because it wasn’t that big of a deal the last time, either.

You can only have 3 Oreos tonight instead of 4. That’s the kind of “hardship” we’re asking here. Give me a break.

Couldnt agree more, saw nothing contrary about it. Im happy for you and hope you get even more changes youd like to see happen.

For the record, I didn’t even see it as necessary. lol I used the default UI and was just fine with it.

I did exactly what I have described: grabbed all these UI elements and, basically, put 'em right back where they were.

Now if you want to talk about how we can’t simply use the arrow-keys to nudge elements, or that there isn’t an “align” tool?? Yeah… I’m with you on that.
