I would really like to not spend an hour everytime I log in to re do all of my UI and other things because its a really important part of how I play, how can I stop it from resetting every time and losing all of my saved info, preferably I would not want to have to back up every individual file before and after I log off.

Upon startup, are you getting a config LUA error upon opening Warcraft? That’s happened to me a couple of times and it resets absolutely everything including UI, addons, graphics and sound, etc.

IIRC, WoW only saves your configuration when you log out. If the computer shut down due to a power failure while you were playing, then WoW never had a chance to save and you lose any changes you made since logging in. If you are spending a lot of time modifying your UI & setting up addons, it’s a good idea to log out periodically to save your work.
Key bindings are saved on the server, not on your PC, so that would explain why you didn’t lose them when you lost everything else. But I don’t know what happened to cause the rest of your settings to get dumped, unless that character’s settings in the WTF folder got corrupted somehow & WoW decided to dump the old file & start over. Did you lose settings on all your characters, or just that one?

This is an old thread but typically if the information is reset, then this is likely due to not having it saved as previously mentioned. Logging out after setting everything up can help ensure that it was saved correctly. I would also suggest running the Blizzard as Admin. If the files or settings still aren’t saving after logging out of WoW, make sure that read only settings aren’t enabled.
In the future, please avoid replying to old threads even if they were similar to your problem.
