We killed it 4 years ago.
I have three words for you…
Darth Jar Jar.
So it’s that’s true, it’s been 2 years, then.
2 years of a devastating drought seems like a long enough time to make a big deal out of it. Assuming, once again, that time even flows the same in the Shadowlands.
Then i guess blizzard is killing off all lore characters for good, this is sad.
Even if we went by Azeroth time, it’s probably been about a year since the Emerald Nightmare raid.
So… four seasons have passed. Season after season. That’s enough to make Ara’lon’s statement valid.
Are you just miserable and need something to complain about?
I’m fairly sure I recall at least one comment from Blizzard (possibly more) that time works differently in the Shadowlands.
It’s the way it is, go with the flow. It’s a lovely cinematic, so I’m happy with it. Do you need to find something to complain about?
I agree,it is a good cinematic,a little heart breaking though.
The assumption they were full on spirits instead of echoes is (likely) wrong though given the info provided by Ardenweald’s cinematic.
Y’sera can be seen walking into the cave where the void flower is housed at the end of the Emerald Nightmare raid, last I checked her whole spirit was lifted into the Heavens by Elune
As others have said, time flows differently in the Shadowlands.
It’s more of a Jeremy Bearimy.
This is true in most underworlds.
Tbf, it was in the intro raid. So almost 4 years ago.
Kael’thas must be there for atleast billion years then.
The only explanation I can find for this is that, maybe, a different team makes the stories each expansion.
Otherwise it is just silly to make so many retcons…
Didn’t they once say that continuity restricts their creativity, or some such nonsense?
The problem, of course, is when we know anything can happen (or not happen) at the dev team’s whim, it diminishes the impact of things like the Ardenweald cinematic.
They didn’t say time is different so much as perception of time is different. People can enter the Shadowlands at the same time, but it will seem to each one as a different amount of time.
Well we did the Emerald Nightmare at the beginning of Legion which was in 2016 so it’s been 4 years since that event or 16 seasons.
~2 years, I remember a blue post saying expansions are about a year of in-game time each (unless I hallucinated that).
But there’s a timeline on wowpedia that cites the books to back that up, too. So ~2 years since we killed Ursoc.
