But doesn’t that still hold true to what has been established though?
Jaina brought into the Maw was it? and in her rescue she made mention that she had tried to escape many times before only to be caught again.
Even if time didn’t flow differently in Shadowlands, the Emerald Nightmare raid was like…4 years ago.

Which is 7-8 seasons…sooooo yeah season after season makes sense if you measure time by them…even if we go by the old calendars that didn’t count spring or fall thats still 4 seasons…

So, we saw Ursoc’s spirit in the Emerald Dream after we defeated Xavius. Did his spirit get split in two like Uther’s?
I’m not really seeing the lore problem here? 1-2 years is actually quite a long time to guard something… particularly if your only job is to guard something…

I don’t think so, that happened to Uther because of Arthas. Frostmourne stole a part of Uther’s soul.
I have no idea how any of this is supposed to work. But it could just be that what we saw in the cleansed dream was just an echo/reflection left behind.

just like the whole expansion is a rewrite of what the shadowlands was previously. (not saying the nature of the shadowlands being retconned is bad exactly, but I wish we would stop getting huge lore rewrites every other expansion)

Time flows very differently in the Shadowlands, something that has already been disclosed to us.
The wow lore likes to fly by the seat of is oversized clown pants. best not to think to hard about it.

This expansion has more plot holes than most fanfiction.

This is not a retcon.
The Emerald Dream and Ardenweald work in concert. Think of it like the world’s seasons. You have four. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. The Emerald Dream for Azeroth’s spirits represents Spring and Summer, where the spirits are active. Ardenweald on the other hand represents Fall and Winter, where they rest and rejuvinate.
So what we saw when we defeated Xavius was Ursoc’s spirit, but after he died, he travelled to Ardenweald to rest and rejuvinate. Season after season, as the Keeper said. Had Ursoc lived, he would have returned to the Emerald Dream in time, and then, he could have been reborn into a living body again, but instead he was sacrificed to save the rest of Ardenweald, meaning he is now gone for good. Never to return.

I mean, that is still a retcon. Not one I take any issue with tbh but a retcon nonetheless.

They’re tired of lore. Lore is inconvenient. People expect there to be continuity. They’re just going to go with soap opera from now on.
