I want to add a ranged caster dps to my character list and I’ve always wanted a mage. I enjoy high skill cap pvp classes and the mage seems like a great high skill cap, fantastic pvp arena rbgs Wpvp and dueling class. They always have been…That being said I’m concerned because apparently mages are terrible now days? For the first time…we’ll ever?! Is it that bad? Just drama?
Go Hunter, lock, or priest. Mage has some things that need fixing

Would you suggest ele? I don’t vibe with the lore of locks and spriests are pretty iffy for me as well for the same reasons. Perhaps disc?
Ele Shammy I think is in a good spot. Disc priest as far as I know is a healer not so much of a dps.

try the specs on a premade char and see yourself
Yeah, disc at least heals by dealing damage. In part at least 
Mage is fun. Its interesting how every class thinks they are bad. I would try them out and go with what you enjoy.

You’re DK. You’re literally number 1 in DPS and your other DPS spec is in the top 15. You’re also 2nd best tank in the game right now. Lol.
Frost mages are saying a very valid statement. We got nerfed and now as a result we’re in the bottom 5 for dps.
Our spec that’s the highest right now is Arcane at number 13. Fire will probably after this week move into the top 10, but saying oh every class blah blah blah is just talking in bad faith. It’s objectively true that frost mage right now is a bad spec. It’s in the bottom 5 along with warriors, destro locks, sin rogues, and DHs

How is arcane / fire in PvP? Rbgs arena Wpvp duels etc?
My understanding is fire is good in PvP right now because the burst dmg is very much real. Frost in Arena isn’t as bad as PvE if you’re with a consistent group. You’re really now the star there you’re there to make others look better but you bring a ton a slows and multiple roots that players will either focus you at the expense of others or ignore you at their peril.
I dont play DK this is my forum character. Yes,every class thinks they are bad right now. Look at the other forums. Almost every one has a topic complaining that their class is dead… Everyone thinks their class is awful except maybe Hunter mains.
I have been on the forums—
Rogues—Sin is the only spec they’re complaining about. They should it’s literally the lowest of the low.
Warriors—Are in a horrible spot. Not only are they they worst tank class they are also bottom table for DPS
DKs— y’all are afraid of nerfs
Druids—only complaints are about guardian Druid. Everything else is showing how they’re in good spot.
Pallies—compliang about holy Pallies but they’re like the DKs and worried about nerfs.
That’s a baseless broad statement to try and diminish a very real complaint.

They are like bfa mages with fire mage nerfed
And even if they didnt put a cd on gpie, fire mage would still be subpar for burst damage in comparison to other classes
