Ugly Male Characters

Well I never I happen to like my gorilla hands they are a part of my troll ancestry besides you know what they say about large hands …bigger weapons … I can wield bigger weapons and look even more disproportionate. But that’s okay Elune says I’m special no matter what anyone else says.

True.
Especially night elves… their body looks ugly af and there is not a single normal face they have.

i think they’re just afraid to add cute men to the game. i mean, we’ve got like, 1 cute male option… vulpera.

it’s why when i make male characters, i tend to give them beards. hide the obscene amount of ridges/wrinkles they have.

All i see is a fleshbag holding my armor /shrug

This! The sad part is that the characters look way better than they used to. Now the male Horde designs are looking better than the male Alliance designs.

Also echoing this. There’s one thing to be said about the Beefcake McLargehuge aesthetic in wow but when it’s the sole aesthetic it gets really bland really fast. Even male belves couldn’t escape it, lest we forget their much more slimmer alpha models before the mentally 10 year olds crawled out of the wood work and cried they looked “too effeminate”. As is I personally cannot stand some of the roided models to the point I have a female model for a leaner built male human rp character. I’ve begged blizz for more body options for years now and I could settle with what we still have if blizz plans to never add additional body types but as a request let me have a flat chest option then. Sporting mega milkers as a default is just as annoying as being stuck as Rip Steakface.

Yeah… I can’t bring myself to play as a male night elf, human or Worgen (even though I kinda like those races)… they are all so incredibly ugly. <.<

Though blood/void elves are also really ugly compared to models in other games. Good looking avatars are really not one of this game’s strengths.^^"

My character is a 6’7" slab of pure carnal s*x. Dunno what OP is talking about.

It’s a problem, in particular for the male Night Elf and Nightborne. The developers know that snarling, wrinkled, angry faces are less popular, but for some reason, they make up the majority of Nightborne/Night Elf male face options.

I collected some examples for the male Nightborne, here:

Personally I think Nightborne are slightly better looking with the updated night elf model… but the night elf model in general is just really hideous. The entire body is completely disproportionate. The angry old men’s faces are merely the icing on the cake…

I love my nelf. I picked male for lore reasons and because of the bounce.

They both look like doritos with limbs.

I mean, the first image his torso gets so narrow though. Maybe it’s just a weird angle but he looks like a funnel.

That’s just elves in general. Apparently we don’t have spleens or pancreas.

In general, WoW’s aesthetics are cartoonish and that’s part of its charm. Warcraft as a franchise has a particular aesthetic.

Making the characters “prettier” would only turn the game into one of the generic MMORPGs that time and time again promise to be the “WoW killer”, but that are hard to tell apart.

meh

just do adequate dps, don’t die in the fire and don’t pull for the tank unless he asks :dracthyr_shrug:

DPS that do those 3 things leave me in awe, rotting or not.

Worgen at least have the advantage of looking unequivocally awesome. The other two…not so much.

Rift, at least at the time, actually had better or at least more complex character customization—all options were comparable to current fem humans from day one, and there was a height slider to boot. (Plus armor dyes and the equivalent of mogging added shortly afterwards.) Its initial mistake was to openly challenge WoW with that ad right at launch; then, it just didn’t bother keeping up.
