Udk Downtime?

So after cds are spent and a few festering scourge strikes I’m out of runes just burning coils is this how the rotation should be?

I’m new to dk. Also I saw some people saying udk isn’t really good until 210+???

I rarely have downtime in my dk when I’m unholy. By the time I run out of runes, I have full RP, and by the time I use up my RP, I have more runes to spend.

Unholy on single target has downtime unless youv got deadliest coil, simple as that

The downtime is the main reason I find UH to be a letdown. Everyone hyped the heck out of it at the start of the xpac but I just don’t enjoy it.

So you are frost?

Spend runes till 90% runic, use coil or SD proc if 1 target, epidemic if 2 or more. Once you’ve hit that initial 90% you dump between 60 and 90, use runes over coil or epi procs unless you are 90+ runeic.

Also get 15% or more haste. I got lucky this week with gear and went from 14% to 17% and its made my Udk so much more enjoyable. Haste for more SD procs and for getting your full compliment of cds out.

Never drop dnd with less than 3 runes and no wounds on at least one target.

Your main secondary stats are mastery and haste, just get those stats on the highest ilvl you can then upgrade with valor.

Yes, the rotation is like what you describe generally but there is a lot of nuance. If you manage runes and runic well you get a second of downtime with 8 or 9% haste. That’s where I was at two weeks ago in mostly pvp gear. You use globals so slowly that its actually hard to hit downtime.

Use DCs intermittently in your rotation to try to keep your rune buff going (forgot the name). I rarely have downtime on my UHDK.

Runic corruption for unholy, Runic Empowerment for Frost.

There’s no real reason to play around Runic Corruption. Procs simply add on top of eachother, so there is no loss in getting two in a row.

That’s not a bad idea.
