Can some alliance chime in as to the point of this? I can see an attack seeking to kill our leaders, but just camping out where we can just walk right through you? I just do not get it.
Is there something about that smelly sewer that attracts you?

Sure, it’s really just about fun. The honor is pretty good if a lot of you horde group up and have some crazy sieges like we did Saturday and to some effect Sunday but it just comes down to having a good time and enjoying it.
I have some footage of the insanity where it’s like 75-100 vs 23-30 of us down there and it gets insane. Especially when you guys figured out you could start a 2 front war, we’ve had to adapt our strategies. Essentially it comes down to a zombie survival sim where you’re not going to make it out alive but see how long you can last.
The funny thing is it started out with 2 members just bsing around there Saturday and then as a few more people came it just got bigger and bigger. But to your original question, there’s really no REASON to do it.
No civilians up there in the courtyard, amazing chokepoint that many Horde transitioning between the two continents HAVE to go to…
It would be the best Alliance farming spot in the whole wide world if it wasn’t a blue flag zone.
Of course, some Horde (such as myself) are permanently flagged for PvP as a matter of principle, because unflagging is for weak souls!
I just haven’t actually taken a zeppelin this last week, so I’ve missed out on the courtyard fun lol
You mean, besides that cave that serves as an entrance?
I do see the vast strategic value of the alliance huddled in the sewer.
Honestly, it’s just a decent place to farm honor. Horde camp all our FPs and our boats. We don’t get fantastic opportunites to become pirates, so we go stand in Courtyards like jackasses.
Double choke point with a defensible terrace looking down onto a open yard with a perpetual stream of Horde coming in and out. With the right numbers and organization it will take a larger group of randoms to push them out. It’s a great spot to be at if you want to kill. Martial Law sucks beans though ex enclave losers
See, both sides are doing that. What would be more meaningful PVP (and likely better honor) would be forming small squads and patrolling your FPs and boats. I have found that max level players instead tend to seek out zergs to zerg, with nothing strategic won or lost.
On a RPPVP server at the very least I would expect players to be seeking out more meaningful PVP. Stuff being camped and disrupting your faction’s leveling? Go drive them out. In doing so you are making your leveling zones better for your faction and rewarding you with better honor.
Just food for thought, for next time the pointless UC zerg is happening and you see levelers in your guild/faction asking for help.
Please see our complaint department to file your grievance.
A know a few rogues & myself who go there just for picks. Instead of waiting for the scraps at the Bulwark we head right to the source.
UC Courtyard battles are like a zombie survival game where you have to survive increasingly more difficult and numerous waves of mindless zombies (Grobb Horde) as they try to kill you. The zombies (Grobb Horde) also have their GY there so you usually end up having to kill them twice as they rezz instantly. For Alliance it’s about a 2 minute run back where you try again.
I racked up about 10K honor doing it on Saturday and had a pretty fun time.
Go alliance! Closest thing we have to you guys constantly camping our boats or menethil harbor
Not as annoying as having our FP boats camped but do what we can.
kinda sounds like OP didn’t have pvp disabled and ran headfirst into them…
it would be preferable to camp your zeppelins but they are located in safe zones and have goblin guards
just good old fashioned blizzard bias/incompetence dating back 15 years
Undercity CY and Kargath are where I go to get zerged LESS. It may sound counterintuitive, but it takes your honour-farming zerg sqauds longer to get there.
Searing Gorge/Winterspring/Plaguelands are just non-stop packs of honour-starved dogs rushing to you instantly the second they know you are around. At least at UC, we can get several minutes of good pvp before getting swarmed.
Kinda not even remotely. It just gives me a chuckle seeing such angst on display in a place where nothing really matters, and your zerg blob gets what, 1-5 hkps per kill?
STV is a safe zone? Are you that intimidated by GromGol?
No one’s been angsty but you lol. You asked what the fights were about and you got your answer. It’s a really weird take to get mad or disheveled about PvP that you can easily avoid if you wanted to.
I will say that most of the Horde that came out on Saturday could have easily bluewalled us to death but actually fought head on. I’d take that of an indicator that they had fun too versus trying to just farm honor.
My point is that it is an insignificant landmark to fight over, especially while you are getting crap hkps and your pvp would actually do some good elsewhere, helping out your faction levelers.
It’s fun and everyone seems to enjoy it. I know it’s a very zoomer/gamer mentality to only do things for the maximum incentive but playing WoW without any ego for once can be worthwhile
In the alliances defense, UC court yard doesnt have any low level NPCs that run the risk of forming a dishonorable kill.
It’s just one of the best strategic chokes in the game. Also probably one of the most frequently used by horde of all levels from all zones, meaning many are often still PvP flagged when mindlessly running through.
Part of the excitement of playing on a PvP server is that you never know when it’s about to happen! Who knows there might be a rogue stalking you right now! Most people would pay extra for the kind of perpetual suspense that we get
