The extra damage bosses do make the keys 100% dependant on how much my healer pays attention to me. In those moments of unavoidable damage like black mark from the sisters if your clense and scales are down then Evoker just gets deleted in high keys. 20ish
i have never seen anyone explain the justification for this class being so squishy. If it’s mobility then that doesnt matter in Mythics. If it’s dps then well we get out dpsed by several other classes as well that DON’T need BIS to do it. You take the damage anyway from some mechanics in dungeons and we are just TOO squishy in comparison to the other classes. I can be in a party with higher ilvl than people in the group and you just watch your life bar being the only one that is dropping to life threatening levels every AOE pulse mechanic while it seems like the other classes were actually considered in design. They all seem to take WAY less damage per tick.
Idk man. It just sucks to be MORE dependant on the healer than any other class.
Its strange, cause you’d think at first glance the class would be pretty tough. Self heals, two scales, armor bonus, stam boost and damage down talents…but then you eat some damage and just get whalloped.

That’s because there isn’t one. Watch out though, just like with Dev and Pres range, certain people seem to think complaining about proper reasoning for design makes you a “Karen.” lols.
I have a hard time coming up with a reason to play Dev at all really. Mobility? Its good sure, but then we have gimped range, so its not as helpful as it should be. Damage? Solid…but so are plenty of other ranged classes without our arbitrary weaknesses.
Anyhow at the least scales need to block more damage and/or last longer. Passives definitely need a boost too.
You might have to reevaluate something. For the sisters in waycrest manor, when that curse is going out you’re getting a stacking debuff that you have to move to get rid of, if you just use hover during that phase and keep wiggling you should be perfectly fine even without a Healer babysitting, even in 20s, but if you stand still during it, you die.
Between Renewing Blaze making Evoker survive anything that isn’t a one shot once a minute, Obsidiqn scales being generic defensive, 5% leech and Verdant Embrace/Emerald Blossom, we only need to worry about the avoidable damage because the unavoidable damage we generally heal through.
The mobility argument often doesn’t even work in PvP. If a warrior focuses me, I’m just done. Knockbacks, landslides, permeating chill, all together it buys maybe 10% downtime against a good warrior.
Meanwhile even with null shroud and a trinket I’ll still get locked down during my burst window.
Halfway skilled warriors are just straight-up dragon slayers. Albeit a bad one is likewise an easy target.
Dude, maybe consider someone did something wrong, maybe you all didnt interrupt enough, maybe you zigged when you should have zagged. All things considered Evoker feels like one of the tougher ranged in my personal experiences, maybe you need to leverage renewing blaze more often cause scales is very strong for a dps/healer defensive. You know zephyr too thats like DH darkness zone, evokers have pretty much everything at their disposal besides a bubble and brez which can be rectified through gear. The last bit all comes down to timing, sometimes dps is too low, but sometimes its too high. You push a % based mechanic at the same time as one thats timer based someone is likely to get a 1 shot.
I feel the complete opposite, and as some who watches the health bars in the keys I do 22-23s im always higher hp the other dps. Evoker is super tanky you just need to have dungeon knowledge and be proactive with your defensives not reactive.
And looking at your profile you have barely dipped into 18s.
