She’s the only human like character in this story.
If a group of people came to my home, burned it down and killed everyone here and half of them celebrated it, while the other half didn’t do anything about it until their leader dipped set.
I’d tell my King to piss off with a peace treaty too.
according to the devs the ancients and dragons only supported night elves out of convenience. But we have demon hunters and mages now, they should be fielded.
I really don’t think as players, most would disagree with you. I imagine most people get why she feels the way she does and even agree to an extent with her. Blizz starting down the path to making her an evil character is going to ring rather hollow and I don’t think Blizz realizes that.
That said, it is true that sometimes the people that have been most wronged often fall prey to a darker mindset in real life and end up becoming exactly what they are fighting against. Revenge, however understandable, is also a nasty thing that tends to turn people to the absolute worst people can be.
Moral of the story? Treat people properly from the start and most evil wouldn’t exist.
Like his father before him, Anduin is the moral compass of the universe. Any character at odds with him is evil, which is why every allied character but Tyrande and, to a much more limited extent, Genn and Shaw, share his exact opinions on everything.
And letting people walk away from their crimes without so much as a hint of punishment allows those criminals to continue to be the horrible scum they already are. Retribution is absolutely necessary and Anduin simply gave those responsible a hug of forgiveness when it wasn’t his place.
With the biggest difference being that Anduin will be disappointed in you and not invite you to tea anymore, whereas Varian probably would have stomped down and did something and not hesitated so much.
All I’m stating is revenge tends to turn people into the very thing they are fighting against, and innocents often pay the price.
Returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. ~MLKJ
