Tyrande in Ardenweald?

Apparently Tyrande will play a role in Ardenwald according to an interview from Blizzard Watch. I know they didn’t handle Night Elves the best this expansion but if this is the case and learning that we did in fact retake Darkshore, this is actually pretty great for Night Elf fans to know that our story doesn’t end here.

There’s supposedly Elune stuff as well, or at least that’s what I got from their refusal to get into the question further.

I’m more cautious than anything. I just want Blizz to do her justice for once.

Here’s hope that it won’t be more humiliation like in BfA! Can they do it, can they make a night elf story without destroying them even more?!

Also:

Seems like they haven’t forgotten completely yet.

I’m actually pleasantly surprised. Didn’t expect them to remember how they stomped the race in BfA.

So they stuck Tyrande into the only part of this expansion I was interested in?

-Screams into a pillow- This really is going to be Val’Sharah all over again…

Hey! At least you won’t see whining Night Elf posts here <3 lmao

I am cautiously excited by what I am seeing put out by interviews.

I am really starting to think the Kaldorei and night fae have a really deep link. The Night Fae may of even had a hand in the Dark Trolls evolving into what they became.

I mean all Kaldorei turn into wisps upon death. Wisps are nature spirits, which is under normal circumstances a surefire ticket to always be sent to Ardenwald… and there was a hint the Kaldorei play a larger role in the cycle of life and death than they are aware of.

Hopefully it’s actual night elf stuff there and not neutral druid garbage as always. I’m leaning towards it being neutral druid stuff because both horde and alliance quest there, but I could be surprised. Tyrande usually plays a bit part that amounts to nothing, so I wouldn’t expect anything impactful from whatever fetch quests she gives out.

You have far more faith in this place than I

I’m not excited about anything until I see it happen. I’ve been disappointed too many times before. I do however think that I may enjoy the Ardenweald becuase of its aesthetic quality.

Same

Same again. The only issue is that the horde will be there too.

I’ll believe the Night Elves are going to get something good when I see it. It’ll have to be damn amazing to make up for what they did to them in BfA. I fully expect this’ll be another screw you in the vein of the Night Warrior somehow. Prove me wrong Blizzard.

Please prove us wrong, Blizzard. We’re so tired of being disappointed.

According to the Q&A, the night elves also won Darkshore. And the Alliance won at Stromgarde.

So on that first point, it seems Tyrande wasn’t necessarily forgotten, they just… didn’t show it in game.

Yep, have to wait and see. I thought the night elves would get something good after the burning, but their story was non-existent this entire expansion other than the warfront that amounted to nothing, we only know they won Darkshore because of a Q&A today, nothing is reflected or said in game about it so it’s just lipservice until they show otherwise.

Fine, let Tyrande butcher her way through horde scum!

We can have Horde there as long as they beg Tyrande to forgive them and prove they can be useful to her.

This is really upsetting for me for a lot of reasons. I guess I’ll make a big post about it to vent.

This expansion is supposed to be about going to a new land and discovering new things about the world. It is neutral content. Which means I, as a Horde player, will have to play it.

Tyrande is not a friendly person. Even at best she is stand-offish. She also hates the Horde. A lot. Back in Val’Sharah she was rude to my druid every step of the way. Now we’re doing that again but after she has become more openly hostile to the Horde than ever before.

What are my quest turn ins going to be like?

“Thanks for saving that wisp, Champion. It is too bad you couldn’t display such a noble spirit when you committed genocide against my people, you monster!!!

I don’t want to work with an Alliance hero every time I play the good guy. I don’t want to work with characters that actively want me dead.

Even more than that is it really too much to ask for even a little bit of druidic lore to not be tied to the night elves? Nature is big. Nature encompasses a LOT more than Ashenvale. Most of the wild gods on Azeroth have no relationship with the night elves. This is supposed to be the place the Loa go to revive as well, yet it has connections to a goddess and a people that they have no relationship with? Are the loa only wild gods when it is convenient for you and not when it comes to druid lore?

You’re making the lore smaller every time you try to expand on it by making everything tie back to the titans or the Kaldorei Empire in some way.

But my biggest gripe really is working with an Alliance character again. Especially this Alliance character that you saddled with so much raw emotional anti-Horde baggage just one expansion prior. How could you think in a thousand years that forcing Horde players to quest with her was acceptable? It isn’t. Stop it. Let me quest with neutral characters or Horde characters.

STOP. MAKING. ME. PLAY. ALLIANCE.

I shouldn’t need to take orders from the Alliance if I want to play the hero.

Honestly that would actually be pretty funny, and instead of giving XP, the quest takes away xp from you.

I can’t wait to make Tyrande beg me to help her because she can’t do it on her own.

I think you’re probably thinking this is going to be more than it is, whenever she shows up it’s usually a bit part that amounts to nothing. Also maybe there is some separate questing during the expansion, not all neutral stuff. Imo she is the one person who shouldn’t be working with the horde.

Seems to be an even split, to me. Draka, Kael’thas, Uther, Tyrande. Though Ardenweald will more than likely be more Cenarius focused than anything else, since he was the one explicitly mentioned as being there.
