It was part of an annual pass promotion during Cata. For a 12 month sub, you got:
Diablo 3
MoP beta access
Tyrael’s Charger mount
It was advertised as limited time, but I suppose they can skirt around that by saying it was the package deal that was limited time, lol.
All of this stuff with the fel drake trying to pad Twitch views and now this reeks of desperation though. The Tyrael mount is again limited time so they are trying to take advantage of FOMO for a second time.

I had Tyrael’s Charger from the original Diablo promo. I’m really happy for everyone who has wanted it all these years and couldn’t have it. I’m hoping the murloc pets will be on the trading post. Let’s end FOMO and make a more accessible and fun game!

Either never allow anything to return to the game after being removed or allow all of it; there should be no in-between.
A mount will not “destroy World of Warcraft’s core”, and even if it could Jiglesworth Sr. (I still have to misspell this mount’s name because Blizzard doesn’t like the first four letters) would’ve beaten the Feldrake to it.

I have it and don’t care. I haven’t used it in years. It hasn’t aged well. Jagged blurry textures. Stiff animations. Only the back half of the wings move. Still like the wings though because Tyrael has one of the coolest pair of wings around. Who cares what mounts others have? Narcissism, vanity, ego; no healthy reason anyway.
Edited: Doesn’t scale either.

Really? This much rage over a mount? Also you’ll forgive me for not being super emotionally invested in being one of the few to have it, as I rather enjoy seeing other people have cool things too. Spread the love, don’t keep it locked away behind the wall of fomo.

Im glad you got it, I got mine from the promotion but, I dont care that they brought it back. I wish they would bring in the Horde cycle for those that missed it during the contest period. Also every single tcg mount.
I see the Warlord’s Deathwheel asked to return a lot on these forums. As someone that already has this for doing essentially nothing, I hope it’s next to be re-released.
If the reason we play is to get mounts, what is the purpose of unobtainable mounts?

I can’t wait for the same people applauding this stuff to start crying like toddlers when the store gets more and more stuff for sale.
I think this was the last WoW expansion. And WoW 2 is next. No old mounts, only dragonflying mechanics. So they’re banking on the old mounts as much as they can now.
i don’t see many people complaining about this one. if u read most of the comments they say “i have it and idc”
i’m one of those people too.
I wish they made a really cool light themed questline that rewards the mount.
