In an interesting twist we never saw coming, it turns out Tyr actually has thumbs! Despite what we’ve been led to believe all these years by the tabard of the silver hand, their “patron saint”, so to speak, did have the standard arrangement of digits. Please observe this science evidence.
Interestingly it appears they have decided to continue this tradition for their new order despite the contrary evidence right there in front of them. Very interesting. I hope the lore behind their bizarre logo error comes to Light real soon.
Did Tyr’s thumb cost us a tier?
tears up
I think this makes it clear that only five digit races should be paladins. To have anything less is impure and of the void
Or the tabard fist has 2 thumbs.
This is also not the original Tyr, or at least not his original body. He seems to have stored his consciousness in the disks, that we then put into the new body we constructed for him. The original Tyr got his hand eaten by Galakrond. Maybe the silver hand he made to replace it didn’t have thumbs. The tabard was clearly made to represent his replacement silver hand and not his original one.
As far as whether this is “really” Tyr or not, is more of a Ship of Theseus discussion. It all depends on how the Keepers were originally made, and if the disks actually held Tyr’s consciousness, or just a copy of his memories. This could just be a copy of Tyr with a copy of his memories. That’s more of a philosophical question.
Yeah I was wondering about that since you can see both hands now and one isn’t made of silver.
Well yeah, we build an entirely new body for him from scratch. I assume his original body was completely destroyed in the fight with Zakajz. He apparently either foresaw it, or, if not that specific, foresaw SOMETHING was going to happen to him, so created the silver protocol to make a new body for him.
That’s the front of a fist not the back of a fist. The line down the middle is the metal separation.
Tyr: someone’s about to catch these silver hands.
