If it won't be in Classic, then it's not a problem. But it's been, what, a year of hard work, and "/lfr" is still in the game?
I'll give Blizz the benefit of the doubt that they actually didn't have the time to fix this, but I'm a little concerned because a college intern could have written up a nice bullet-point paper/spreadsheet of "obvious things that need to be changed from 7.3.5 to make the client 1.12 vanilla-like" and I think (not certain here) that it's pretty easy to fix the code to remove "/lfr".

That whole tab he is talking about is included with the lfr and lfd so that’s a confirmation. So sad hope we don’t lose you :(
He specificly said no LFR and no LFD, group making tool is in the same tab but its not either of those, dont be butthurt please.
That tab is not on the classic tab meaning they intentionally took it out. The only way to get to it is through commands right now. Keep dreaming

Yea I understand you need to rip some things like this out. No big deal as long as it will not be in the game anywhere.
You think you do, but you dont

That's good, you guys should give some confirmation on sharding too
I think if the goal is to deliver an authentic experience, should really ditch that
They want feed back that's why. They have like 10 people on their team, they aren't going to pick up on every tiny thing that's different.
Some of you don't realize too, the build they have us demoing, is easily over a month old, it's literally been up on servers for a long time. They are further ahead than this. I'm pretty sure things like 200% spell crit/etc will be fixed too. give feedback of classic bugs, don't complain like they already released it this way.
now if it's in bad shape at release like bfa was, definitely be more angry, but don't be upset an out of date BETA has bugs. It's a hybrid client merging new tech with old and some cross over bugs will need squashing.

"You cannot make this stuff up." I doubt people will listen to this and just keep going, so thanks for at least posting.

Yeah, well Lore confirmed without actually confirming sharding on my post.... its a straight up mad house over there.

This is some weak, weak spin. The reason we're disturbed is because the Classic Demo is playing mechanically like post-Cata WoW (the general tuning, the spell crit, some spell graphics not original), probably because that's what the underlying code is. I'm genuinely concerned they cannot restore the original Classic Authentic gameplay to the codebase they are using.

So basically instead of updating classic to play nice with current systems you're just porting classic quests/level restrictions on top of the current overly bandaided game.

I appreciate you posting to us...I REALLY do. And hearing that it will not have LFG/LFD/LFR or w/e is a MASSIVE relief.
However, while you have relieved some doubts here...you only opened up pandoras box of concern when you hinted at the possibility or perhaps even reality that sharding will be used for Classic....
Seriously, THANK YOU for posting, its the first time in a year lol. But if you really care about the community, then I implore you to grab the person in charge by their shirt collar and let then know sharding is a big, massive, NO.
No excuse, no reason, we don't care what technical reason exists for it, the answer is NO. It is such a huge deal...

As it should be....thats a BIG !@#$ing deal. Doesn't matter if its only for the first week, first zones, the first day for the first zones...it doesn't matter.
Its a big %^-*ing deal.

Will it still have sharding and meeting stone summons?
It better not.
Meeting stones were still in vanilla but, they didn't do the same thing as they did now. If I'm correctly they acted like the lfg system.

Thanks for the reply. Can you tell us if things like 200% spell crit and weird equipment stats are artifacts from the modern base?

No that isn't what was said.
"To that end, we do believe that some form of sharding may be helpful, especially in those early days."
"Especially in", not "limited to" or any other phrase remotely meaning "only used for launch day", in fact it's more the opposite as in maybe other times but almost certainly launch day...
