TWW, What item level gear drops in the first zone?

What item level gear drops in the first zone? looking for the level 70 toon item level.

I recall it being low 400s, 409 or something like that

I didn’t play Beta content, but based on WoWhead, looks like somewhere in the 400 - 408 range.

The first quest that rewards gear shows ilvl 400 at level 70:

With the “Scales with Level” slider for that item actually showing ilvl 408:

Not sure which number is accurate but they’re pretty close together so “at or near 400” should be a good enough ballpark.

That sucks was hoping for at least 415.

It’s pretty standard fare for WoW for someone in endgame patch gear to not actually get upgrades from leveling in the next expansion until they’re like 70% of the way through, if not all the way through depending on how high end their gear was.

I know, was thinking about the toons I have coming over from remix.

Remix gear is being lowered to 380.

Last I saw it 415, do you have a link about the 380 change?

Yeah I’m skeptical about that as well. As far as I’m aware Blizzard’s never directly said what Remix characters will look like when they leave Pandaria. That includes the inventory and those 36-slot bags that they get, for what that’s worth.

No, I just made a number.

On beta, at level 70 it was 408 for me (you can proc blue or epic and easy to kill rares (lots) usually reward blue items for your level.)

On your first toon the ilvl rewards cap in each zone.

So the isle caps at level 73 (level 73 rewards are in the 480s), ringing deeps level 75 (515 ilvl), hallowfall 79 (or 78 not certain) (545 or so ilvl) and azj-kahet 80 (low 550s ilvl). If you are in reasonable df gear you won’t get upgrades until level 78+.

On early beta when copy retail character was temporarily disabled I had a premade toon in level 390 greens - content was still easy at that ilvl.

Those level caps are a good guide in how to approach levelling on your first toon. On beta loads of people did the campaign quests only and ended up at level 76-78 blocked because the final parts of chapter 3 of the campaign have a level requirement of 80 - so a good tip is to be level 73 starting ringing deeps, level 75 or 76 hallowfall, and well into 79 for azj-kahet.

They have not.

Supposedly the 415 number comes from Beta but I’ve never seen any screenshots or explanations, everyone just links to WoWhead saying 415, and WoWhead also doesn’t explain it.

If it’s legitimately verifiable somehow on Beta, cool, but no one talks about it.

Yeah the starter zone for TWW is tuned for people who just leveled up and have a bunch of garbage questing greens from DF. People stress way too much about gear going into it. You’d be fine at 300, higher just makes a couple early levels go a little bit faster.

I have no idea where the 415 comes from except wowhead. There’s a youtube based on an interview which says ‘low 400s’. If you do a bing search the AI says ’ Your level 70 Remix toons will be converted as a basic boosted toon at the end of the event.’ - and at the moment boosted toons get ilvl 424. I have 2 remix toons and have collected a set of ilvl 480 gear from the pre-patch event for both of them.

They just announced the remix numbers, remix toons will come over with 467. none of yuor 36 slot bags or any of the cool stuff, but we atleast get 467 gear.

Just go do the prepatch event. You can have a full 480 set in a couple hours.

thats pretty awesome, do you know how much gold we get too? Someone told me 5k and someone else said 10k per level 70 panda character.

There’s a blue post about this.

Don’t think they mentioned an amount but that it will be appropriate for the level, whatever that means.

It doesn’t matter. If they dropped 502, they’d just tune the content appropriately.

Why? Just why???
