[TWW Spoilers] Your character in the intro scenario

Hi! TWW spoilers incoming.
Playing thru the intro scenario, I imagined a short adventure with my character dealing with that crisis as it happened. Then, I got curious: what about you?

Where were your character ICly during the catastrophe? How did the event change them? Did they take part on it? Did they recieve the news after the fact while lounging in a tavern far away?

Playing a Paladin in the full prepatch gear it felt like I was a guard from the Violet Hold. I had levelled up in ReMix and the character is fresh fresh enough that I’m still feeling him out. Running around in Violet Dalaran Plate prepping a city for an possible attack and then rescuing survivors and well . . . the rest of the first hour really made it feel personal.

There are so many story hooks available with that setup. Do I eventually find remnants of Dalaran that held special personal attachment on the island, am I worried about some of the prisoners that had the potential to survive what happened and where they may be and what are they plotting ? What about the people I cared about and may have worked with - do I even know if they are alive or dead ?

I was thinking of playing an Arathi, and wanted to wait until after Hallowfall before I decided, but this setup is very tempting. Imagine if your character was there when Dalaran first fell to Archimonde. This event would play havoc with them but they may also be the perfect person to do what is needed now.

My character is ICly there during the happenings, sent with his small unit of the Argent Crusade to check out a situation on the Broken Shore, they stopped for a head count in Dalaran first, the city teleported with them on it and then there was the Nerubian threat to the city. They stayed behind to assist civilians in getting to safety, and was part of the explosion.

He was gravely injured, suffered a few broken bones, a concussion, and a pierced lung, but survived. Much of his gear did not survive or was unrecoverable.

I’ll have to get back to you on this one.

Off the top of my head, Sir Bowen here may be involved as a Knight of Stormwind as well as his daughter Nimue studying magic in Dal. So, if he wasn’t there on an official capacity, he’d have arrived shortly thereafter to look for her to make sure she’s alright.

My Shaman having a connection to Azeroth through the Elements and his connection to Spirits was there due to the Radiant Song(s). He was likely in Dal during the launch event.

My Shadow Priest may have been on site for similar reasons to my Shaman, although being one with the void, I can neither confirm nor deny he particular allegiances to the Harbinger.

I’ve got three characters previously living in Dalaran ic. One, Keermiel Lightriver, is close to a master Diviner, Astrea Evermoon, who thankfully received a premonition of its coming demise in time to issue a warning. She managed to transport much of her more important belongings out of the city as a precaution but stayed in the city herself. As an Abjurer, Keermiel was able to protect her home for a time, turning it into a makeshift refuge for herself and others until a portal out of the city could be made. She arrived in Astrea’s family home in Winterspring along with those she helped. The city was gone shortly after.

Another, Rosyllyn Montebont, is a Kirin Tor Warmage. Already mostly prepared for conflict, she spent most of this siege fighting as well as helping civilians. Her partner, Velendrin, was a collaborator in Keermiel’s situation. Rosyllyn remained among the survivors of the city and was eventually captured following a flawed teleport. She’s injured but alive in enemy territory.

The last one, Phylande Lightriver, who was living with Rosyllyn and Velendrin after the burning of Teldrassil, was in Stormwind at the time, conducting research for a book. I contemplated having her be in the city, but I’d rather not put her in that situation a second time. It’s bad enough the plot has rendered her homeless for the second time.

So… I survived the “destruction” of Dalarian. I suspect that Me Da’ there won’t be arriving on Khaz Algar to rescue me until Jaina and Thrall return with reinforcements.

He isn’t quite a fan of magic since Me Ma’ passed away. Though I cannae say fer certain he ever really was. I suspect if his Dragon doesn’t fly him over, he’ll be sailing wit’ the rest of the alliance fleet.

Yeah, I was not in Dalarian when it teleported. Not even sure if I will travel with the Horde Fleet to this new land. It’s possible, but like some other expansions content, not sure it will be part of my character’s story.

I am maining my earthen Warrior now so… sleeping but solren my Gilnean warrior.

solren slowly sharpened his runic sword, as he sat in the guard quaters in the stormwind mage tower. A rhythmic scrape of a wet stone echoed within the watches guard room. It was midday when Alrams rang out the tower.

Solren immdetly shealthed his sword on his waist and his shield on his back. He rushed out of the room when the commanding officer ran in the door way. " Dalaran is under attack!!! QRF get to those portals

( narrator notes: QRF stands for Quick Reactionary Force- Elite force that is on stand by for emergency situations)

Solren as the newest recruit nodded and headed towards the portal room down stairs. There was alot of commotion down stairs as some people ran out of the dalaran portal while others answering the call for help tried to push through the crowd into the portal.

Solren took a deep breath to center himself as unshealthed his weapons, his heart thumping like drum as adrenaline and nerves excited his entire body. " QUICKLY!!" Yelled a mage “the portal magics are being disrupted…” solren took a step into the portal and stepped into the floating city…

My human would have been there and is about to get his warrior on lol

So how about you?
