[TWW] Retribution Self Healing Feedback

I have been testing out a lot of dueling in the Beta. We have received some buffs and more self healing with Sacrosanct Crusade which is within the Templar tree. This is a wonderful addition to Retributions survival. Wonderful talent, please don’t nerf it.

Dueling alot of Dks on the Beta and its safe to say currently they are our biggest counters. But something I notices is their insane amount of self healing. looking at the numbers a single Death Strike on average heals for 1mil, not including amplifiers, which currently dk hp is average 8mil thats 1/8th of their health pool as a melee class. Right now on beta WoG heals for 400k, thats at 20% hp with selfless healer. Flash of light heals for 300k with Lights Celerity every 6 seconds. On this matter thats all I have to say, the numbers speak for themselves. Other classes heal just as much as dks.

Divine Protection is only 10% damage reduction in PvP. When did this happen and why?

Shield Of Vengeance sharing the same node as Aegis of Protection really blows. If they were separate I would shut my mouth and never complain about our defensives or lack of healing again but having to choose between 30% dam reduction vs a 2.2mil shield thats easily broken really blows.

I dont think its goign to be a SUPER big deal but throughout all my time on Beta it is 1000000% not worth pressing WoG or FoL ever in any situation while in PvP. The waste of a GCD instead of pressing a 5min cd isnt worth. My ret currently has 7.3mil HP there is no way 300k is going to move my health bar.

I understand this is Beta and could possibly get some healing buffs but Im just hoping a Dev might stumble upon this and look at the numbers and see how its awkward for a HYBRID class does pretty good damage and no healing at all. At that point Ret is just a dps class with minor utility.

While tuning is ongoing and won’t be done for several more weeks (and even then it’s never fully done), it’s good to share feedback about how it currently feels.

Absolutely agreed.

It’s because of this one Talent is why I’m switching my preferred choice from Herald of the Sun to Templar. This Talent alone should make a major difference in our survival since Blizz nerfed our Sanctified Plates, Crusader’s Reprieve self heal and making Sov a choice node with Aegis of Protection.

Maybe if they remove some dumb pvp modifiers on talents like fading light and stop removing our self healing ones like Crusader’a reprive…

It is cool that they gave us a good defensive with the Templar hero tree, but sadly we all know that it will probably get nerfed to the ground in pvp, when streamers start to cry about it, because god forbid ret be actually tanky in pvp and not almost always the kill target.

It is definitely going to get nerfed because it is currently so strong Ret can ignore mechanics in PvE.

A couple of weeks after 10.0.7. Why? Because after the rework Ret was considered a non-target in PvP. It got some heavy nerfs, justifiably so, but then a bit later the spec also got some PvE nerfs because they were proving to be too tanky there too.

how is it ok for locks to shield themselves for about 80% their HP for 20s every 45sec, while being ranged and it is not for Ret sacrosant shield that has a 6s duration and is tied to Wake of ashes?

Also mages, They can keep shields for days while healing for 40% dmg they absorb…

divine protectio nhas been 10% in pvp combat since 10.0.7 and the talent made it 20%. now that the talent is on the same node as shield ofvengeance we are left with a 10% wall. like whos in charge of the spec to not realize that?

their push for crit as a stat is also meaningless when the crit talent avenging wrath might is cut by half in pvp. like theres so much wrong with ret carrying nerfs from Df to TWW…

herald is just the best spec for pvp if thats what you want. it literally has it all, snares, self heal, off heal, its hammer of wrath procs hit just as hard as hammer of light and it benefits from constant wings procs.

just shameful.

Because:

  1. Warlocks does not have an 80% shield. It’s closer to 60% and they have to sacrifice 20% of their current health to get it. It also only works if they are at max health. If you use it at 50% health you get a 50% smaller shield. Their other defensives are kinda terrible.

  2. Sacrosanct Crusade does not last 6 seconds, its 10 seconds. It also gets refreshed when you use Hammer of Light for a total of 10-20 sec duration. The heal (and shield) also procs from Light’s Deliverance, giving it a potential uptime of 50 seconds. The shield also scales with the number of enemies hit. Pull 5 enemies and get a crit on Hammer of Light heal and you get an absorb shield for 100% of your health. On a 30 second cooldown.

  1. Sacrosanct Crusade isn’t Ret’s only defensive. You still have Divine Protection, Shield of Vengeance, and Divine Shield/BoP. As well as just passively taking less damage than most other classes through Dusk and Dawn and Wrathful Decent. I would mention heals, but Ret heals have kinda been gimped on the beta and aren’t worth casting outside of Lay on Hands.

The crit thing is strictly for PvE. As for the PvP modifiers, they are usually reset during beta but for some reason it hasn’t happend this beta yet.

Im’a stop you right there. Ret does not have heals on the beta. Herald or otherwise.
