TWW pvp is going to be kind of boring

In tww, dmg is about 2.5x higher than live but hp is about 4.5x higher. Solo shuffle games are lasting over 20 mins and people basically don’t die.

I think they may need to make crits do full damage again. I know that’s not a popular opinion though, but it’s super slow.

It’s the beta.

Numbers tuning is whatever, they can always adjust hp/mainstat values on the trinket bonus.

I get that it’s the beta and they need to tune things, but there is a lot of tuning to be done. Like, hitting lava burst for upwards 1.4 mil on pvp target dummy looks good. But in a match hitting for 600, max 800k is bad when people have close to 8 mil hp.

On average people are doing 180-300k dps. Bursting for 600k. So with no defensive or healing, people take 13-30 seconds to kill.

it will be boring but not because of damage (they’ll tweak it about just right).
it will be boring because of the caster supremacy that is about to reign terror upon me.

I think the information in OPs posts are relevant feedback, but the title is giga clickbait.

Damage too low on beta so game is too slow. Speed up plz

i hope TWW has more CC than DF

somebody told me that DF has no CC and that this game would be bad without CC

I’m still on the fence if I’m even going to compete in PvP next expansion. I guess it all depends on how it feels to me

In all reality they’re probably trying to balance around rbgb

The beta is bait. The first season will be people exploding in 5 seconds for Blizzard to farm funny viral videos, just like in SL and DF season 1. Then they will gradually “fix unexpected overtuned abilities” and have a functional game by Season 4.

This is what playing a spriest or demo lock feels like. They needed damage buffs long ago on retail.

Beta will he massively different then live. Could pvp be bad sure. Should you judge it off of beta absolutely not. Multiple class changes and tuneing will be happening even up too and past launch.

The amount of people who say “beta/test realm doesn’t ever reflect what the launch will be like” never ceases to astonish me. Obviously this must be the first beta/launch cycle for you clowns, because there hasn’t been a single expansion where overall damage pacing didn’t go from the beta into the launched product and then have blizzard be like “oh my bad we’ll make some changes.”

Every single time we, the players, say “there’s no way this goes live like this,” and it always does. Sure one or two things may get struck down in the testing cycle but 90% of wackiness still goes live.

I almost guarantee you that we will have a painfully slow meta with the exception of warlocks doublecasting 4 mil damage chaos bolts and ending games randomly.

Every. Single. Time.

Going to be more boring waiting in queue to do solo shuffle because the healers will be where the REAL PVP action is… Blitz Brawl!!!

The ultimate pvp fight this expansion will be Blitz Brawl versus Arena. We will finally see what kind of pvp content the players really want.

Don’t arena…. Get away from that garbage. Come do bg.

This is what I am thinking as well. The slower TTK (and additional self-sustain) helps melee push into the team fights without getting instagibbed in under ten seconds by ranged. However, it can make for some pretty bad pacing for isolated 1v1 fights. It’s not an easy thing to balance between the two.

They have been increasing damage for some specs in the last two patches, however.

It is a combination of lower damage and significant self-healing/absorbs that have slowed things down a lot. It doesn’t feel as bad in arena with dampening cutting down the self healing.

The amount of people who say “beta/test realm doesn’t ever reflect what the launch will be like” never ceases to astonish me.

This is dead on. I don’t think people realize just how much the game has been slowed down. Most abilities would have to be buffed by 100% for those abilities to do the same damage as they do in DF as a percentage of enemy health. That isn’t going to happen.

Some specs recently got 20-30% damage increases, so that will speed things up a bit but that is still going to be a slower TTK than DF. Unless they literally double damage output on pretty much everything (there are a few hard hitting abilities) it is going to feel slower.

LOL, this is another thing I see constantly in videos from people testing TWW pvp by hitting target dummies, which take much more damage than actual players. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m curious how much the hero talents are causing them to bungle the numbers as well.

There’s a lot of new modifiers, which means some abilities can have outrageous high end damage. So to compensate for that, they may have just over-tuned things in anticipation of that. The result being that our absolute hardest hitting abilities might be on par with what we’re seeing in live now, but our low end and average damage outside of stacking multipliers is just pathetic.
