if the better version is dynamic flight why is the standard version locked behind level & questing?
logically, the better version is the original flight - not the dynamic one being tossed around like “legendary weapons”.

Dynamic flight is nothing like “legendary weapons”, whatever this means. I don’t know the real reason why they locked normal flight behind leveling and questing. Only the devs do. I just offered my best guess as to why, and I even stated that I felt that it their train of thought on this was flawed.
Not only that but an achieve is given while with DR it is just handed to you like an after thought.
Heaven forbid we don’t engage the game ‘correctly’.
I think DR may help with farm bot detection, probably harder to mimic human action so maybe it makes some sense to only have it in the current quest area. It sucks for people with disabilities though I can only imagine. They put a grind on DR with the coins, too, they’re just looking for places to add grinds and they know we care about flying. I think people would be more receptive to DR if they didn’t tack on the addendums.
Oh no not the old worthless way of flying! They should just remove it and make all the flying mounts dynamic flight.
Definitely not worthless.
Hey, did you know you can just use your dynamic flying mounts anywhere anyway? Asking for something to be taken away just makes you look like a troll.
let’s call it " bizarro flight"
seems appropriate…
Same argument was used when used against PVP players asking for honor and conquest vendors to return.
The truth is that the elegant solution is to allow TBC normal flying day one alongside DR and let people choose.
Fair.
Simple.
And everyone is happy.
I don’t want an award, I’m just tired of having to re-earn something I’ve earned time and time again. It’s not a shock that Blizzard does this, but it’s getting old. I guess on the bright side of things, I only have to do it on ONE character.
The humiliation ritual of making disabled players to do patchfinder to re-earn TBC normal flying is a new low that BlizZard is resorting to when an easy win would be to turn the page and remove PF as being a requirement anymore.
spite from wanting to get rid of flying but they cant because we will all leave again. it happened in wod once when they tried. so spitefinder/chorefinder exists because they were forced to add it
Spitefinder is a great new name for it at this point.
“What is we made a mistake and don’t want to admit it for 500 Alex”
I am not a fan of Dragon Riding. I am allowed. It serves one purpose. The ability to get across the zone fast so you can mindlessly zerg hit a Named mob someone called out.
Rant for another day.
But yes? It’s hilarious really. You can ride this dragon anywhere right from the get-go, but you can’t use the old style flying.
Make it make sense.
It is almost like they are making us use Dragon Riding even though…eh it isn’t really working. Sorry Dragonriding fans, You will never convince me that riding a Dragon that cannot fly “up” (a 10 ft cliff) without proper rest is “Cool”
The truth is they did not read the tea leaves correctly and now are paying a heavy price.
There is no point. It’s just out of spite.
All the game design reasons really were undone by what they did with DF and TWW expansion design.
Agree to both.
Given who PF affects now…VERY uncool thing to do.
I did accidently get PF so it must not be too hard. I literally havent been playing a ton and saw that I got it.
if no other consolation exists, I guess that is one
From beta I knew it was trivial. But if it is trivial why even have the gate in the first place? That is the point many of us brought up before.
I mean gating TBC normal flying for “8 hours” of game play when you could flip a switch and make it easier on those that are disabled or experience motion sickness looks like an easy win to me.
