No my dude they had a huge sub loss, that’s why they came out with pathfinder…
People saying they were going to quit and they did that’s what made blizzard do a 180 on getting rid of flying completely.

All I have to say is “about time”. Should have happened YEARS ago but as per usual Blizzard doesn’t correct anything until it’s either too late or almost too late.
Fair. Since we do have a flying all the time, I’d say they were sorely mistaken by trying to force a “grounded experience” on players that didn’t want it.

now why would someone that giddy about removing flight, actually believing the base would be ok with it…THEN turn around and repent? lol.
its NOT the Ion and crew changed their minds about being on the ground being ‘better’.
That is a fear response caused by player backlash in reading that first article and hearing that flight was being removed. lol
notice the dates of the artcles…what…3 weeks between them?
Didnt take too long to figure out that removing flight entirely was going to cause enough people to quit that it wasnt worth it.

So no comments about how designing world content would be approached differently when flight is allowed vs disallowed?
Again, not that one is better than the other, but as a game designer, how one’s approach would be different?

That was literally what Blizzard said Pathfinder for TWW would require from the start.
All zone storylines completed, all zones explored, reach level 80 on one character. BAM! Congrats, you’ve got Pathfinder for TWW.
Now compare that to previous expansions where Pathfinder was either:
A. Not available right away and everyone had to wait for months to unlock it.
B. Required a rep grind with one or more factions.
C. Both.
And the trivial tasks you’re required to do to unlock TWW look precisely like that. Trivial.

What’s to discuss regarding that? No flying = on the ground, have to deal with irrelevant mobs that serve no purpose other than take time, have to deal with terrain that (likely) you’ve traversed multiple times over that just adds tedium to your quest/daily/farming/whatever.
Flying = get your objective done in a timely manner.
Not sure what else to discuss about this.

They have the matrix where they can see who uses dynamic verse vs Static flying they can see the numbers…

Blizzard flat out said that Dragonriding/Skyriding was going to be the default form of flight from now on and you’d get it early. Pathfinder is exclusively for ye old steady flight.

You know, sometimes it really is better to not say anything at all…because sometimes things get said that change how others see and think about a person…respect is lost. Over silly things like not showing empathy for others or maybe being a little duplicitous in ones thought processses.

One inconvenience for farmers and suddenly everyone is decrying the change for accessibility reasons. Reprehensible.
How about this: Just walk until you’re done with the campaign, like TBC, WotLK, Cata, MoP, WoD, etc etc etc. Your personal problem solved.
