TWW: Make Legacy Tier Tokens Warbound Until Used

So TWW has AMAZING transmog farming changes where we will be able to obtain the appearances by having the items drop.

However there is one glaring issue and that comes Tier Tokens.

As it would stand now if you wanted to complete your Black Temple Priest Tier Set you would still need to run BT/Hyjal on your priest because the tier tokens are class specific.

The solution to this is quite simple, and that is making all LEGACY RAID tier tokens into Warbound until Used instead of Soulbound.

This easy solution would solve the entire issue.

EDIT: It’s happening!

It doesn’t seem like it’s a problem they’re looking to solve. Seems intentional to keep it locked by class.

Lets use Vanilla raids as an example. They drop tier itself, and in the new system if you get Mage Tier leggings on your Druid in Molten Core, it will unlock that appearance. Same with the WoD raids where they no longer drop tier tokens but the class pieces.

I still cant use those Mage Tier leggings on a Warlock or Priest for transmog, but I can still unlock their appearance while on those classes.

It also means when people run a legacy raid that drops tier tokens and the token requires Mage/Druid/Rogue to use while I’m on another class I can mail/bank the token for one of the appropriate classes to use it for the transmog option.

I understood your points. I’m sure the devs have the ability to do this, but from the way they’ve presented Warbands functionality, I don’t think they want to do this – for whatever reason. So this isn’t a problem they need to solve, it’s one they seem content to keep.

Maybe they’ll change their minds during beta as more players use the system…

It seems a bit weird to make this exception i agree. Kinda goes against the spirit of the system.

They way they presented it is that mage specific transmog items can’t be transmogged on a Warlock/Priest but you can still unlock the appearance for your Mage while on your Warlock/Priest. As is in TWW I can go into Molten Core on my Mage and get Druid Tier transmog because the tier doesn’t come from a token but is still class restricted.

I’m bringing this up because the very well might not have had old tier tokens come across their mind.

The other option would be to allow, for TBC to MoP token exchange vendors, to show all classes tier instead of just your own so we can individually exchange the token for the item. However this will become a problem when Shadowlands Raids become Legacy Raids with Sepulcher of the First Ones once again having Tier tokens (and later Dragonflight come time 12.0).

Appears this blue post has been deleted…did they change that?

The alpha forum just went private when the beta forum was created.
