TWW Gearing is Good But Can Be Improved

I like the option to upgrade.

I think the upgrade system is good. If I changed anything I’d have valorstones only useful for gear below vet track and I’d have less steps in each upgrade track.

That’s absolutely false. One does not affect the other.

I will never accept “we need the game dumbed down so i can play more alts” as an adequate design mindset.

The game should not be about seeing how fast you can get your gear so you can make a new alt. Thats absolutely horrible design.

Subjective opinions cannot be true or false. There’s obviously no data to collect for this at this time.

You just disqualified your own statement. Making your reply worthless.

That wasn’t at all stated as an opinion.

You said:

This is making the claim that when there was less progression and larger gaps between people doing different content, that the effect was more reason to play alts, RP, world PvP, etc.

You made a cause and effect statement. Not an opinion.

If you wished to give your opinion, then you should have said:

For me, without the upgrade system, I personally had more reason to play alts, RP, etc.

I disagree because the system as it stands makes it SO EASY to level and gear out alts. For people who swap mains for new seasons and people who play solo and people who fill more than one role in a raid team…omg, this gearing system is the best thing we’ve ever had in the game.

No RNG. Just grind x to get y.

It’s straightforward. It’s easy to understand. It’s not ridiculously gated.

And this cannot be emphasized enough: NO RNG.

you do the content, you grind the rep, you get the crests. When you’re done with crest type A you trade it in for crest type B and keep going.

It is one of the very best features of TWW to me.

Edited to Add: My only complaint about TWW gearing is that the crests are all some slightly different shade of pink or purple. C’mon, guys. We have an entire color wheel to choose from. Seriously. Stop it.

Yeah, seconded. I ended up accidentally buying the wrong upgrade (and wasting a bunch of crests) because I misclicked the option with the currency I thought was correct based on color alone. Now I hover and double check the name every time.

One of WoW’s things is really going all in on a color scheme.

“This is the everything is green patch”, etc.

no, your right. the game should be about grinding out content to attain your gear and then when you finally get it to drop and win the roll, spend the rest of the patch / xpac upgrading it, all the while not having time to enjoy the game as a whole.

what a joke gear upgrading is. especially when you get that best trinket to drop in champion ilvl and upgrade it, then you need to be blessed with rng to get it again at heroic and upgrade it all over again and then you got to be rng lucky again to get it in mythic vault and upgrade it all over again. yea great system. what a joke. but you do you.

What are the correct and approved ways to enjoy the game? And, specifically, how is the current gearing system stopping you?

Upgrading gear has nothing to do with this complaint.

Remove upgrading, and you still had different levels of gear.

Fine. If you want me to be more specific, it’s a hypothesis. This is a discussion and I don’t think I need to explain to you how it works based off our past conversations. You know just as well as I do that is not a good example of a statement of hard truth able to be backed up by evidence.

Let’s not split hairs here man.

I don’t feel the need to declare every statement I make as fact, opinion, or otherwise. I have faith that the community can figure it out.

Oh yeah. I can see why you would think so. I do agree that tww is easier gearing of alts but I don’t think that has to do with the upgrade feature specifically. We can just as easily keep the warband feature as is and you would have no change to the alt gearing efficiency.

“Gearing is good but I hate everything about it and want it to go back to when no one was happy.”

What an idiot post.

gear upgrading is just a delusional system that gives people something else to look forward to while pushing keys. i know you like it, you said so, as well as a few others in this thread. me personally, and literally everyone i play with in game, guild and discord think otherwise. but thats fine we are all entitled to our opinions, and gear upgrading is a joke.

Feel better?
Best.

I appreciate how you did not answer the question I asked. And ignored everything I said. To continue this irrelevant diatribe.

Which is also not an opinion. Your theory doesn’t much hold water. There is no evidence to claim that this would even remotely be what happens.

No one asked for a declaration. Simply communicate better. Because you still aren’t doing well with that.

well instead of clearing content and getting all my bis items and being done and farming mog, pets, toys, mounts and getting all the xpac achievements done, i still have to spend 90% of my limited gametime upgrading that gear. everyone plays different and i personally think that having to upgrade gear you earned is redundant and moronic.

that good enough for you mr. cant handle other peoples opinions if they dont fall in line with your own?

Why do you have to upgrade your gear to farm mogs, pets, toys, mounts?
