I started doing Delves at Tier 1 and once I hit level 80 I got access to the Great Vault. Since then I’ve been “doing my 8” and I’ve worked my way up to Tier 7s for the “2” and “4” vault boxes and Tier 6 for the 3rd vault box “8”.
So far I’ve always gotten gear from the Vault which is higher than what I had which has allowed me to continue moving up. I also upgrade gear when I can which helps.
My goal is to get to Tier 8, then to improve so each Tier 8 run is not an hour long slug. My guess is that they are saving Tier 9-11 for better gear in later seasons but who knows.
At any rate I find this fun because I don’t do group activity and with Follower Dungeons, Delves (to get gear from the Great Vault) and Story Mode Raids I can now to the entire expansion story.
I see I think once people break into m+ and doing +10 keys or w/e it’s like why would I ever wanna do a T8 delve except on a fresh alt but maybe that’s what it’s for a more noob friendly thing
Not all of us have a life style that allows us to commit to a guild. As for PUG M+, they all go running off so fast I can’t keep up. I end up getting killed, sent back to the start and when I try to move forward alone I can’t get past all the mobs left behind.
With Delves and Follower Dungeons, I can move at my own pace. Or to put it another way, I can actually spend my time playing the game, not sitting in queues waiting to get kicked out of the next PUG.
The only problem I have in m+ is tanks not watching healer mana other than that you can really only pull a couple packs at a time. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. But I get your point
For people that don’t like m+, the incandescent joy of not pugging m+ can’t overstated. Almost everything looks good by comparison.
At the gear level I settle in, the delve gear is actually pretty good. Several of the delve caster trinkets outsim the raid and m+ ones at 619/623. I only do delves and pug heroic raids so I don’t really need myth gear.
I keep amused by doing them on multiple characters and seeing how fast I can do them. I get a couple characters geared to around 620, unlock the mythic transmog appearances and move on to the next ones. Rinse, repeat until next season or I run out of alts.
Eh, as a raider, I still get the lion’s share of my crests from m+. I mean ya, if you need runed crests and are clearing heroic raid, you’ll almost cap out raiding. But if you’re not an alt and need runed crests… dang you’re behind.
Finally, you get 12 crests a run unless you fail the timer. If you are consistently failing to time sub +8 keys, I think a bit if introspection is due. What you’re REALLY asking for is better rewards for easier content… which has been the rallying cry of the bad player since the dawn of time.
None of us can really reach this conclusion without knowing delve and M0 participation rates. Anyone who would have been spending time in 2 - 11 keys in previous seasons won’t be able to be in those modes anymore; they might be in delves and M0 working their way to the new level of a +2.
It’s not that they aren’t “good enough” in a vacuum. It’s that an even easier, soloable activity is giving the same or better gear than a low level M+. Anyone for which those levels of M+ were only just a stepping stone having a gripe that they are better served running delves instead seems like a valid complaint.
M+ is still more popular today than raid…
gigga cope
When did asking for data to support a hypothesis become cope? Yeah, M+ might be in a far worse spot, I did not suggest otherwise.
All I’m saying is that a direct comparison of M+ participation from previous seasons to the current season is flawed because of the loss of low-level keys from the M+ numbers. It’s not a surprising result there would be fewer keys run this season when the bottom 10 levels of keys were completely removed. Some of those players might never come back to M+, 100%. But some of those players will make their way back into the system later in the season after they’ve gotten gear and/or practice in the dungeon pool in other modes.
Makes it easier to do Rogue things, they never suspect the fool court jester of anything…
honestly, I actually like delves except I think the keys are completely unnecessary. Why do I need to farm coffer keys and also wait for a daily reset? Just choose one or the other I’m so done with time gates layered on top of time gates.
As for rewards I still think Blizz is getting a feel for how they handle this part of the delves because you just know the sweats will cry MaNdItOry! at the drop of a hat and we can’t upset the rading/M+ golden children now can we? Because only they matter, afterall.
What it should do, is once you’re past Delve 8 or 9, is just up the gold or other currency reward for lower levels, to incentivize doing them.
It definitely isn’t cope. Icyveins says that week 5 of TWW had about 1.8m runs compared to DF S4 week 5 which had about 875K. I’d like to include the link, but it won’t let me.

put these ( ` ) around the link.

@OP I’m enjoying delves… M+ is another story. I was never a high end M+ runner and them eliminating M0-9 eliminated my need to do them.
I agree with pretty much everything OP said, I can’t speak on PvP because I don’t do any of it but yeah miserable experience for non-raiders/M+ blasters.
Let’s not talk about the 22 grim batol I ran this week without seeing a single trinket drop.
Correct.

You’re making another argument because your first one was wrong. I’m done with this conversation. Good luck dude, you need it.
What are you even on about, 3s and 4s are easier in TWW than 13s and 14s in DF. You get a buff from the affix like every 2 minutes now it makes them very easy. Maybe git gud brah it aint hard to push buttons on a keyboard.
You remind me of the ‘ummm ackshually’ meme… do you look like it too?
