With the launch of TWW quickly approaching, I feel like we still don’t have much clarity on what will be available during the Early Access period. Will it just be leveling? Are professions going to be available to farm resources and begin crafting? Can we farm Heroic dungeons and progress through Delves? I have friends who are debating purchasing this based on what’s available, so it would be nice to have some clarity in black and white.
Hopefully leveling only. TBH even then early access is predatory nonsense no matter how they handle it.
They talk about “bringing people together” and in the same presentation reveal they’ll be splitting up friend groups who want to play the game together based on social class. People being forced to buy this or they end up feeling like the Squidward meme staring out the window.
I hope they let us play M+. Show the peasants who’s boss.
My big concern is for professions, since gathering at the beginning of an expansion is typically a huge moneymaker. A 4 day head start on this would be a pretty big deal.
I definitely don’t love the Early Access model that most games have been launching with recently, but at least I’ll get to play on the weekend, I guess.
Leveling and normal dungeons. You can gather materials and start your weekly profession quests but all weekly quests won’t reset until the 9/3 reset so there’s no advantage on profession knowledge or any other weekly lockout thing.
Where is this information from/posted?
Basically everything for leveling. Heroics and mythics will not. Even crafting is sorta time gated with catch ups so no one can just blow through it and be the top crafter.
Other than leveling, it sounds like the only jump will be about gathering.
And this is only if its a smooth launch
With all the folks going crazy over it I’d be fine if blizzard only allowed leveling / questing if it made people calm down. That’s all I’ll do anyway if I’m able to play those days . ( I mean during the day I’ll play at night when all my work is done)
A lot of stuff, such as Delves, heroic dungeons are locked until full launch while, Mythic+ Dungeons, raids, are locked until the season begins, which is the 10th of September.
Yes, professions will be unlocked, but if I remember correctly, there will be some recepes locked due to reagents from dungeons or raids (I might be wrong on this, but someone will need to confirm me on this.)
Mostly just leveling.
They said no heroics or M+
No raids
Delves yes, but I don’t think they clarified what difficulties.
No Great Vault or Great Vault content
No weekly quests
No profession weekly quests
No rated PvP
No seasonal content
Weekly stuff and Heroics/M0 begin on the 26th. Seasonal stuff begins on 9/10
YES
No, only normal dungeons
If gathering is available, that will have a significant impact on goldmaking. Do you recall where you saw this information?
Good sire,
would you mind supplying us with the scroll of intellect which describes this information?
As someone with the epic edition, i hope as much is avaliable as possible.
Its early access not limited access.
Imo it should be the same as what you get on the official launch date.
Yes.
Yes.
Players will be unable to do Mythic 0/Mythic+ dungeons, loot the best items from rares, access weekly profession cooldowns and profession specialization points.
Doesn’t matter what they remove they’re excluding people from the launch based on what they can afford, which is a fun event where old friend return to the game and gather. Excluding people from the launch experience and making them watch their friends have fun from the sidelines all weekend sucks.
Predatory tbh
If your “friend” can’t afford early access, are they even a friend? #levelupnotdown
I havent seen anything that gathering wont be available. That skinning, mining or herbing wouldnt be available for those days.
Not really. Because everyone will do the same and then undercut everyone and it’ll fall fast.
So you said yes to my Heroic dungeon question, but another user said no to Heroic dungeons. I appreciate you linking the PC Gamer interview with Ion, but with that being from 2023, it’s hard to believe all those comments are still firm. For example, since then, they’ve changed the entire Mythic Plus system (twice), which tells me some of these things may still be up in the air. Would love Blizzard to make a blue post to be perfectly clear about it.
