Looking at the talent trees available for TWW, it seems like Aug gains both flavor and ease of use via the Chronowarden tree. Double Time for longer Ebon Mights, Threads of Fate for bonus group damage, and Motes of Acceleration for movement buffs makes it seem like it’s an obvious pick.
But I can already reasonably reach 70-80% uptime on EM on many encounters and can always make sure it’s up when it truly matters, and Motes has the issue of “ally needs to know what it is and decide to interact with it” in order to be useful.
Meanwhile, Bombardments adds group damage which is nice but SC also adds quite a bit of personal damage making it less punishing when groupmates die, lag, have downtime, or maybe just aren’t that good.
Has there been a consensus reached on a clear winner yet? Or a general leaning toward a certain Hero tree for Aug in particular?

It’s WAY too early for any sort of consensus.
We just started beta hours ago.
As currently designed, interdimensional phase is so much stronger than motes I don’t see it even being a question outside of trivial content where motes could be fun.
I think for the niche that Aug currently fits (garbage damage, huge group utility/survivability), Chrono fits much better, but ultimately it all comes down to tuning which we’re months away from.
For augmentation, Chronowarden is really interesting, you will have many flames flying, reduced recharge on strengthened abilities, more Hover uptime, acceleration buff, it’s a very, very interesting hero tree. Scalecommander, I find it much more interesting for devastation, due to the visual appeal, but it will probably be well used by augmentation as well.
Why not both. Chronowarden will probably get more out of raids and Scalecomander out of M+. imo.
