TWW alpha build 4 - hunter the only class with 0 changes

Hello,

https://www.wowhead.com/news/the-war-within-alpha-spell-changes-alpha-build-54605-339906

Check the Classes section - 12 out of 13 classes have updated spells.

Guess which one is missing…

My question to the dev team is simply - what’s going on? 4 builds in a row, 1 month already, not a single hunter change, how is that possible?

Druids - MS changed on a spell.
Paladin - level req removed.

such change, much wow

So do we not have any changes for 1 month, or did we have a hunter change literally last week ?

Guys… I think its time to reroll, we were happy with a bird pooping stars, like… its over.

I mean maybe not happy, but it seemed metaphorically appropriate for the spec…

NGL, part of me thinks, more like dreams of a MASSIVE, GARGANTUOUS rework because there is no way that these guys are going to leave us in the dust.

ROFL, thanks for the laugh as we near the weekend. I’ll think back to this and get a chuckle all weekend long.

It’s time to reroll or quit they abandoned the class.

none of the class devs play hunter and it’s been obvious since BFA

Hunters dont have a dev hired so until then hubters will only get scraps when time is left over. “No hunter changes are planned as of now” but expect to see updates later into war within.

This is a tldr of what blizz has said about hunter. The most popular class neglected for 2-3 years crazy. Your still playing this dead unsupported classes.

I don’t get it. Rogues just got redesigned in 10.2 and are being updated again.

Sick subterfuge and bone spike changes, double vanish on the class tree…

Ret was reworked and is being reworked again right now

Why not work on a class that hasn’t been updated since forever just once for a change?

Because the developers aren’t playing those classes. They’re playing paladin, druid, and rogues, ect. Look up the blog post by Xelnath, former wow developer, that straight up says that development, at least when he was there, was very driven by what the developers were playing especially those involved in pvp.

Except for losing Sdance on 2 of 3 specs which is very noticeable…

Shadow Dance as assa or outlaw felt wrong to begin with, it was a good change to remove it. Its a sub ability anyway

I can only guess the context as you replied to someone I’ve blocked, but essentially it’s much stronger now.

They lose shadow dance every 1 min in combat, but get it on every restealth for 6sec with the new subterfuge.

Also now every rogue spec gets double vanish, and the reason double vanish takes the place of shadow dance is that if you vanish, you get subterfuge for 6sec, which is exactly the same effect.

So it’s actually a big buff, not a nerf

losing 6 sec restealth every min
gaining an extra charge on vanish for a single extra 6 sec for the entire fight

Yes having 1 extra 6 sec stealth window once per fight is a big buff over getting it every minute.

I love how beautiful mind of kirenaika just processess information.

I’d be more likely to agree if outlaw/sin didn’t have such significant design around gains from stealth that is now is far weaker / harder to access and will require another redesign.

just as we lost double tap at DF’s beggining, which is very noticeable.

I’m hoping they are redoing the hero talents. I recently started playing again and leveled this SV hunter up and love it. The hero talents for SV though… I don’t. Sentinel just doesn’t make sense to me, perhaps if you’re a night elf hunter and only if you’re a night elf hunter but, hunter is available to all races isn’t it?

Pack Leader well, we do use a pet but, it just screams BM and only BM and I feel like they just didn’t have any ideas for SV so, they just tacked it on to tick the SV box.

I feel like hero talents are a backwards step tbh. We have a class tree and a spec tree and now, we have another tree that adds abilities for two different specs that they’re spending too much time on trying to work for each.

It’s as if blizzard has said “here’s an idea for a hero talent, now we have to try and make it work for two complete different specs”. As a result, it’s out of place especially when there’s hero talents trying to get melee and ranged to work for each spec. Same goes for dps/heals, dps/tanks etc.

I’d rather something else. Blizzard is obsessed with reinventing the wheel every expansion but, I’d just rather they refined abilities/talents/rotations instead of “CHECK OUT THIS NEW SHINEY!” And spending way too much time on it :man_shrugging:

Pack Leader matches the spec’s description and spec fantasy

I mean, it does however, when I hear pack leader I immediately think of BM hunter, being a very pet oriented spec with the damage loaded into it (I’m not saying SV isn’t a pet orientated spec, BM just is known to be THE pet spec) SV doesn’t seem to have a hero talent that’s screams SV.

Not really. Even though lots of specs in the game use pets, BM is the only spec where leading packs of animals is the spec fantasy/identity.

That would be like saying a hero tree called Sniper Rifles also fits BM because they can use guns too.
