TWW - Allow Anything to be Transmogged

Greetings! With the ability to hide any slot now, including pants, and with Warbands allowing us to unlock appearances regardless of armor type, I feel like the thing I have been asking for since Transmog started should be implemented. Transmogs are entirely cosmetic and harm no one, and truth be told, I accidentally bought TWW with the misunderstanding that is how it worked (I left in BfA after heirlooms changed how they worked because all I do is level alts and transmog them).

I’d really enjoy farming and being able to make NPC-like outfits on my 50 or so troll toons, mixing leather, cloth, plate, or mail to create amazing, unique, and lore-accurate outfits- and I think TWW’s Warbands is the perfect time to let this become a reality. Cosmetics harm no gameplay, do not hurt anything, and now, with pants even hideable, it seems silly to stop this from happening.

The only exception, if it has to happen, would be that anything in a current “end game” not work that way, so the high-end mythic raiders and such can walk around in their fancy new gear (although for all I know, they might like transmogging that very same gear on their alts at the time to show off even more so). Or you could even limit it to only gear from previous expansions, but otherwise, but keeping this mentality from well over a decade ago has to progress at this point, and I really think this is how it should be.

I certainly think that now we have those lovely Trading Post gowns styled like the Ahn’qiraj ones, we should be able to use the Ahn’qiraj ones for transmog, too.

Sure, why not? To me it’s silly to limit it at all. Sure a joker her or there might make himself look silly, but who cares? They’ll get bored of it in about a day. Honestly, even the holiday stuff too you collect, all of it should just be doable. And, like I said, I think now while they are working on the system for Warbands and unlocking anything, this would be the easy time to flip the “anything goes” switch.

No. Absolutely not.
Please dont strip the one element of class fantasy we have left.

Wait, I am confused, did you think I meant you would not be allowed to dress like your class? I meant you can certainly still do that with my suggestion. I am talking about the freedom to do that too, my friend! lol You absolutely should have your class fantasy (and I should also get to have my more realistic-Warcraft-fantasy) we all win.

If a Mage can dress up in full plate armor, then the Mage class fantasy has been abolished.
If a Warrior can dress up in robes, then the Mage class fantasy has been abolished.

Alliance mages have been able to do this since WoD.

Warriors have been able to do this since the advent of transmog. (technically earlier, if they wanted to farm int gear for “city gear” in TBC)

The Fantasy of Battle Mages in Plate armor has existed almost longer than WoW has. And no mage, Warrior, or hunter/ranger dresses up in a single type of material. If you look at any class set they look like a combination of different types of materials like cloth, metal and leather. So no. It doesn’t ruin class fantasy as it would simply be about personal fantasy.

But there are already transmogs that DO allow that and have been in the game for years. For example, a Human mage can dress in a footman’s armor? I would love to be able to understand your perspective, but I am confused by this. I keep typing to try to figure out your non-issue but I cannot figure it out.

All i can say is the best I can understand you, you are saying that even though transmog has allowed for, what 16 years or something, people to look unlike their classes already, somehow this change will make it “more changed?” lol Are you also trying to sit back and think about my perspective?

You get to be class fantasy all you want. I am not forced to be class fantasy (since a troll would drop dead before wearing all these weird clothes). So you get your thing and I get mine?

Do you click on every character you walk past and whisper them if their current transmogs do not fit your own precise concepts of what their class should look like? Again, I am not understanding there to be a problem here, I am sorry, because I am emotionally mature enough to say, “You know, if I have MY thing- it takes something FROM HIM” and so I could get it. But all i can see is “I have MY thing, and he still gets HIS thing too”. And then your post sounds like, “I already have what I want, but I DO NOT WANT this troll to have what HE wants”, so I am scratching my head.

I just want to transmog my evoker with cloth armor and cloth class sets, because it’s badass and I want to wear it with my favorite transmog

And from my perspective, there is no reason that you should be stopped form doing so. It would not effect a single thing in the game play, but just give you a sense of uniqueness that I think a lot of WoW players have wanted a long time. We still have one of the least avatar customizable MMO games around even after 20+ years.

i can see the appeal, but its a no for me.
it ruins immersion, i don’t wanna see a mage that looks like a paladin, its just dumb.

If I can wear the blood troll outfit on a plate wearing class, I should be able to wear cloth. Edit: there are also uldir raid set for cloth. It has plate bits on it

Let us mog all the holiday mogs all year around please.

My biggest wish for this game is definitely a massive reduction in transmog limitations. Remove armor type restrictions, remove holiday restrictions, and allow Warriors, DKs, and Hunters to transmog 2hs into DW 1hs (and vice versa) and I would be VERY happy. Bonus points if they allowed Warriors and Paladins to transmog 2hs into 1h + shield (make it not work in PvP if the PvPers decide to cry about it).

And we already know turning a 2h into DW 1hs works just fine as far as animations are concerned, because Frost DKs can transmog 2hs into their DW artifact weapon.

We have many sets that look like other types of armor already. My Mage Gobbie here looks like he’s in leather. My Druid looks to be wearing plate and cloth. So what’s the big deal in opening it up?

But, I do not mind you wearing your weird clothes, so I do not see why someone else’s freedom should be removed, but you continue to have your own. Seems inherently wrong.

I think transmog, barring certain exceptions, should be limited only by what your class as a whole is capable of using. They really need to get rid of arbitrary weapon type restrictions on transmog that don’t make any real sense (looking at you, daggers).

Oh and plate-wearing classes should be able to mog with mail armor appearances.

Any armor type works for any class, no limitations. That just be what I want for many a good years now. Though, if it never come to be, then oh well, life goes on.

(Sips )

I would be okay with it only in town for RP, otherwise no it’s immersion breaking.
