I’ve killed Mythic Kel’Thuzad 17 times with ~ 15 three-item caches and 2 two-item caches and have not gotten Jaithys. My guild has only seen it drop twice neither time tradable.
I killed Mythic Sire Denathrius 11 times with ~10 3-item caches and never got the weapon token. Again my guild at the time only saw it drop twice neither time tradable.
Please for the love of god add in some protection… FML
And here I am all season still rocking a 246 weapon.
My newest alt, my prot pally, has already received 3 1H weapons (2 were dupes). Every alt is rocking a 252 weapon. My original tank alt has yet to get a BSS. Rest all have it.
I don’t think they need to add loot protection. I think, if anything, there should be a weekly involved quest to earn a vault reroll token that works similar to the old seals but instead of rerolling on bosses, you get to reroll your vault and can hold up to 3 of these tokens.
Edit - The quest should be a bit involved too. Something like clear Shaping Fate, clear 1 assault, kill 3 tormentors, 4 star a torghast wing and earn at least 1 vault item within the week.
For quick loot, the vault is great. For bad luck protection it is complete garbage and bonus rolls were better. If they are going to limit the raid loot to only bosses you’ve killed, we should be able to exclude bosses we don’t want loot from, since technically this is already possible by avoiding ever killing that boss. This isn’t really practical on a main, but that I’ve even done it with alts is a problem.
When a mechanic encourages you to NOT do content, that mechanic is broken.
On the opposite end of the spectrum we have been incredibly fortunate with our KT kills. My guild has killed Mythic KT 4 times and that sword has dropped 3 of the 4 kills. The staff dropped 2 of the 4 kills with duplicates. RNG is going to be RNG and it’s terrible.
Only question I really have is why do you still raid?
Raiding died after (during) Tomb of Sarg. M+ being a faster path combined with overly complicated mechanics. That was enough for me to stop raiding.
Well I’m using a nice pinch of salt on top of my exaggeration.
But my Guild disbanded. I personally lost interest. My brother and our WoW social circle quit raiding.
