Ok, you’re clearly new here. Not insulting this time just saying it’s clear. Blizzard opens up the servers for transfers, let’s you know when it’s going to happen. You decide with your guild if you want to or not. If you all decide then you all decide. If someone decides to leave their guild for the xfer they would obviously have done that anyway that in no way shape or form should be on blizzards radar.
To a certain extent this isn’t even for guilds this is for healthy, distributed, populations.
i’ve deleted mutiple max level characters during vanilla and after and as i said earlier i just sent all my gold to a priest. moved to a different server. decided i didn’t like it. rerolled again. i’ve been on MG and SoE for a while now and i’m happy with those two servers so i haven’t done it in a while. but it’s not like it’s hard.
Blizz has for sure mishandled this. A good chunk of this was unavoidable because they are committed to the long term health of servers and I absolutely applaud that. There was no good way to handle this. However, some of the moves they did make to help mitigate I think have been poorly thought out. I think that the additional servers added soon after name reservations opened should have had more notice given to be most effective. I agree with you; I think these new servers they are opening should be locked for transfers off the most populous servers. It doesn’t look like they are at the point of transfers, either because they estimate they don’t need to or they aren’t ready to pull it off technically. Either way, I think it’s a half measure with good intentions that may prove far less effective.
Blizzard Apparently are idiots what Kleg is saying and could not come up with some sort of decent transfer system and overhauled it to allow people to freely move around for the first little while without costs maybe some sort of time-out timer but let people move and migrate without the worry and needs of having to convince all their friends / guild members…
No I get that. What I’m saying is that the reason the “close the gate” solution isn’t good is the same reason why Blizzard refuses to lock the full servers. They can’t know when it’s ok to stop the transfer because there’s always gonna be people who will complain that they now can’t play with their friends. That’s why I suggest that if transfer are to happen this early, you do it to a server that is new and will be able to accommodate vast numbers of players. Currently, besides the 2 new servers, the other realms can accommodate only a small number of players before they do start having a queue problem.
this is a new account i made in wrath. i unsubbed during tbc and didn’t resub until mid wrath. my account was compromised and i didn’t feel like messing with it. not that that matters or has anything to do with anything.
No, he didn’t get pwned you idiot. He’s still right. They can’t just infinitely increase server capacity because when they merge the layers down to a single one, how do you play even if the server can handle it with 50k level 60s all trying to farm the same 3 zones? Or even worse, they decide it’s impossible and layering stays forever - instantly killing classic. You want that? That’s how you get that.
What Blizzard needs to do since they announced these realms far in advance for some reason is also announce that these realms for the first day will only be open to server transfers from realms x, y, and z. Because at this point, these servers will probably be dead because everybody has settled in and refuses to move now without a transfer.
why would i lie about rerolling 03458380495 different times and not doing anything at end game? i worked on professions and rerolled. it’s not like i’m saying i cleared naxx. i didn’t even do dungeons except for the really lowbie ones. strange thing to say i’m lying about. 0.o
i wanted to be a prot pally in vanilla so you can imagine why i didn’t do much group content. i’ve made peace with being a holy pally at this point though and prefer it. so now i see no reason to not play it.
But I was not even the one being called out and in fact I called you out speaking to another member… You really need to straighten out your facts before calling someone a child. As this child can read…
